Northern Lights Motherfucker!
Tonight at around 2:00 am the Northern Lights are supposed to be visible in most parts of New York State, I’m pretty pumped! One of my life goals is to road-trip to Alaska and see a true aurora. But, if I can see them in my own backyard that’s even better.
![]() So, a few of friends and I are grabbing some blankets, a thirty pack, and some food and making it a midnight picnic at Chestnut Ridge. Gonna be sweet!

That was last night. Tonight happened at 8 pm EST.
Good luck though, prove me wrong.

Missed Tuesday's northern lights show? Another is on its way. - CSMonitor.com

We may have been able to but it was far too cloudy. Whatevs. Good times were had by all.
It's always nice to get away from the city for a while.

Ive seen em from NY, a few different times.
One in particular was awesome, but all were filled with people lining lake ontario just falling in love with nature all over again. The best time, bands of red and green alternating and giving a sense of depth to our atmosphere... it was like you could see the spherical dome we live beneath, for the first time. |

such cool stuff.
As cliche as I'm sure it's become, add me to the list of people that want to see the lights before they die. so fucking beautiful.
