The public's perception on pot

Have you ever smoked weed in public and been ridiculed?

I never have. Smoked many a times on downtown Minneapolis's benches; with a half dozen different groups whom i just met on the golf course and was just smoking a bowl or onies with no questions asked. On the disc golf course with random people that obviously smell my bud and not one person has said anything.

I really don't expect anyone to say much but im surprised not one has said "Are you smoking marijuana??"

The publics perception of pot is bad because most stoners do very little to prove the sterotype wrong.

The average person who is against pot has probably never met a stoner (or knew they did). The public perception, IMO, is largely a product of propaganda.

This goes for just about everything in life, not just pot.

I've had lots of people come by when I was smoking one up either in the woods or elsewere.

One time some meat-head stole my friends book-bag and turned it into the police cuz it had his information in it and he was getting all hyphy about us hazing up the abandoned tree-farm he was biking in or something. Nothing illegal was in the book bag so nothing even happened, except some old angry guy wasted his time.

Most the time though people don't know what to say, cuz if they smoke they probably don't wanna mooch, or be too high-profile about it. At least here. If they don't smoke they usually don't wanna say anything, maybe they'll fake a cough or act appalled or something but they usually pass on by doing whatever they were doing before pretending I don't exist. Maybe their just oblivious though. Sometimes you'll get a "Something smells good", but those people usually just end up walking away too haha.

It is kind of awkward having long hair or looking I guess like someone who might smoke cannabis, in public places. Not going to lie. Even when I had been sober from everything(void nicotine) for months, I'd have the ladies working registration at my school making snide remarks about my stoney nature or something. As if growing your hair out to donate it was some inappropriate misdeed that they have to put up with because I am within their visibility.

All I can do is laugh to myself. Cuz at the end of the day, I may or may not burn a pinch of plant matter, but at least during the day I try to go around talking and wishing the best for people I pass-by as often as possible.

Where as drinkers go out of their way to ingratiate themselves with the general public .
