Do you carry a weapon?
I know it's kinda stupid, but I recently started carrying a significantly sized knife. Like if I managed to use it, it would do some damage... let me add, if I needed to.
Anyways, it's attached to my key, cause I don't really have anything else for a keychain, and it's big so I won't lose it. But the other day it fell out of my purse, and this lady looked at me really weird.. It's not illegal to carry it right? I can't be the only one doing it though. It's not like I'm gonna carve up some little kid. I walk home late at night.. live in a pretty secluded part of the city.. This is acceptable, no?

I usually have a pocket knife on me. Its for more than self defense or cutting people. It can be a useful tool also. I have a Ruger 9mil at home but there is where it stays.

depending on the kind of knife and your state...it could be illegal...but i'm thinking probably not. i know certain kinds of knives are illegal in cali...(double sided ones maybe? i'm rusty on my knife laws), but most regular ol' knives aren't.
btw, i'm guessing, like i first said, it depends on the knife and state/laws. edit: wouldn't you only be cutting people if it were in self defense?

I have some pepper spray in my glove compartment but it's for hiking and I usually forget to bring it anyways. So no, no real weapons.

In my opinion, carrying a knife or any weapon in a purse or even just on your person is a false sense of security if you think about it. Of all the given circumstances, most involve the immediate surrender of said purse/bag. You will not be given a chance to go digging inside anywhere for anything once you are in such a predicament. In reality, you are just surrendering more weapons to the enemy...
UNLESS you have super bad ass 'bad-guy radar' and get the jump on them before they, you. Which begs the question: Which side are you on

I carry a butterfly knife in my pocket. It's pretty useful. I've never had to use it on anyone, thankfully. I use it more as a tool. Chances are sometime during the day you'll need something sharp, whether you're at the house or out and about. It could especially come in handy if you're ever stranded, by yourself, out in the woods. I don't ever see that happening, but I don't rule it out either.

Unless your in commiefornia you shouldn't have to worry too much (there a folding knife must me 3.5 or less). automatics (switch blades) are illegal to carry in most states and actually are less reliable and slower than a well placed thumb stud.
and no i dont carry any weapons, my knife is for cutting objects, not people. also without proper training you'll most likely hurt yourself in a defense situation. good use is intimidation though, my best friend avoided getting his ass kicked by a fucking hulk just by pulling out his butterfly knife. in high school i used to carry knives around thinking i could defend myself with them. then one time we thought someone was breaking into my friends house (we were on acid) and i ended up cutting myself gesturing to where the sound was coming from. word of advice, put your knives away when on psychedelics. pic is knife i cut myself with, sharp fucker
