It's one thing if it's an endangered animal like a whale or seal or if it's very young and not an adult.

But if it's something like a deer, bear, moose, or type of elk and there's a major overpopulation of adults the I don't really see a problem with it.

I also agree about banning the use of the high tech hunting equipment. I've seen people hunt around here with rifles and cross bows and a bow and arrow.

I hunt for fun. It's not like I just shoot a deer to taxiderm his head though. I also fill the freezer with venison. Give it away to friends, family. Make some jerky, use the stuff like any other meat.

cant believe the amt of nut jobs on this site.

hunting manages areas "designated by govt, called units"
they give out so many tags that are given out in a lottery to the paying hunters.
they allocate these tags by surveying the lands and seeing how much game is there, and what can be "taken" to help the land.

imagine no deer, elk, etc... are hunted, and the population continues to increase, while the habitat does not. what happens when all the food for these animals is gone, ill give you a hint, same thing that would happen to a human with no food.

certain states have private hunting as well which is managed by a land owner and it is his land and discretion at what is hunted.

you hippies can continue to buy your shit exclusively from the grocery stores, and thats cool, it keeps me in business,
but ill continue to put in the draw and hope for tags each year(deer, archery rifle, elk archery, turkey shotgun, javalina pistol, and migratory birds each year)

until you have a 600pound beast breathing on you less than 10 feet away, i dont think youll know the adrenaline rush. god damn i wish i had a bull tag that day, was out for cows not a bull elk.

I see what your saying here waves but...something will still die in order to feed you that night. I believe killing to feed yourself is not only living naturally and in sync with nature, also much much better then the fucked up shit that animal went through to get your burger or chicken.

this is all talking hunting within sustainability of course.

killing to feed is natural, i agree, but that isnt what alot of hunters are about. they take the natural act of hunting in the wild for your survival and turn it into a game. as i said before i respect hunters that use their game for food, its the fuckers that just kill shit for fun that i consider murders. then again i killed a bunch of ants that were in my bathroom last night and i just let their stupid corpses rot so im probably just as bad as the people im condeming in some cosmic way.

but then again, i dont suit up in my hunting gear, grab my rifle, and consciously walk out the door everyday to kill ants. they were invading on my turf yo. this aggression will NOT stand!

ps im not implying my personal morals should be the standard its just my personal opinion on the subject!

Richard Christy's (of The Howard Stern Show) father has a good perspective on hunting.

As long as it's common/highly reproductive animals like deer and not endangered/hard to repopulate fauna i see no adverse affects on the environment as a whole.
Yeah some people totally generalize about that. I hunt and i'm no where near fat or drink beer..I'm just a little bastard. I also agree..sometimes I volunteer with the national forest and clean up around areas wildlife are known to be.

His father is a hick who lives in the middle of nowhere. He hunts for their food because they don't have any money. He shoots raccoons and sells the meat in poor neighborhoods (yes, they know what they are buying). RC's father picks up road kill (if it is fresh) such deer and will gut and eat it.
