Idk, I guess I don't like the idea of people buying me drinks. I've don't like people paying for me. Growing up shit poor has given me some kind of block about accepting charity from people.
I know it's different on my bday, but Idk.
I have a ton of friends who would all be willing to go to a bar with me, but I don't like going under the impression that they're gonna be the ones doing the buying.
If I can't pay for it myself, generally I'll just go without.
That probably doesn't make any sense.

I am right there with you man, the worst you can do is refuse once, if the person insists than take it, because then you are refusing a gift on your birthday and that is just bad form/rude...That is if you even make it to the bar scene...I can tell you that on my 21st I was assed and floating around on a raft in the middle of a lake by 2 pm...The rest is...a forgotten month...

Believe it or not, giving gifts makes people feel decent about themselves, if they are any kind of decent human being anyway, why deny people that? What makes you to good to accept that your friends might want to hang out with you enough that they would pay to do have you come along.

You're probably right. I have been working on accepting gifts from people, but I always feel like I'm putting them out.
