I saw a comment in some magazine at work today that said, "Give or accept some random act of kindness; it puts you closer to humanity to do so", and I thought about this thread. Just some food for the brain

Just buy a bottle of something nice enough. Makers or Gentleman Jack and you'll have a 20 left over for whatever else.

So I'm kinda feeling a top shelf personal bottle instead of a bar crawl which most of my friends want me to do, which will get real expensive real fast and I'll probably end up running out of money long before the night should end.

What would you suggest?

I don't do tequila.
In my opinion, the best $50 is spent on pitchers of cheap, mildly warm, hardly carbonated draught with your buddies, that you jew them into paying because it's your 21st birthday.

I like good liquor, but I would rather have good company on my birthday.

I have some anxiety about receiving goods/gifts/money. I'll usually decline once and if they insist, accept it. I let them give me stuff because I know it's making them feel good about it, and receiving a gift well is just as important to that person as the gift is itself.

It's not that I have too much pride or anything, it's just feels uncomfortable.

And bearsy I really hope you aren't worrying too hard over this. Your buddies aren't going to worry about buying you drinks on your 21st. It's understood that the birthday-boy don't need buy drinks. They got yo back. However I suggest buying some fuckin birthday bud then roll some birthday bluntz.

I still think it's pretty stupid to buy something that nice for a 21st, much less if he might not have the palate for it, the fact that it's pretty stupid to be buying anything himself as has been said notwithstanding.

I wasn't shooting for something you'd drink out of a trashcan, but you're headed in the right direction.

if you're walking by the end of a 21st birthday you're doing it wrong.

LOL I DRINK THIS SHIT. i love gatorade and everclear. it's a kentucky classic.

Also the day I turned 21 the first thing I did was buy a bottle of single malt scotch because I'd never had a single malt before, and it was only like a 27 dollar bottle of Mclelland's Speyside. I just wanted to experience the feeling of walking into a liquor store and picking out whatever I wanted. I was like a kid in a candy store.
