My thoughts exactly - but it's fine to see alcohol flowing in the celebration of summer, football, bar-hopping (well it's appropriate there I guess). Ah who cares - everybody should be able to take anything into their own body as they see fit, without anybody trying to control them.

My Mom is 72 years old and has polymyalgia rheumatica, and just last night she called me and asked, "do you think some pot would help me with this pain all over my body"? You KNOW I told her, "you know it would, Mom", and she, being a nurse said "I know these damned percosets the doctor gives me are going to cause me a lot more problems than they are helping". I told her I'd have some waiting for her when she comes back to KY. She wants to move to a state where she can get a prescription for it.

One final thought before bedtime:

I think it would be a good time to re-think how we talk about "marijuana", and especially "Medical Marijuana".

"Marijuana" and other vernacular terms for the weed that brings a lot of us much happiness and relaxation, has racial and social connotations which some may not realize. I won't get into all that as most of us know it already, and those that don't, well, it's time to search for the truth for yourselves! I just think that "Medical Cannabis" should be used in this context.

Now I know I'm going to get a few "Fuck that shit it's weed, pot, ganja, whatever *I* want to call it, man!" posts, but when some people hear the word MARIJUANA or POT, they think "drugs". Cannabis is not and has never been a "drug", since those are synthetically made concoctions of man. Cannabis is from Nature and is as natural as the rain that falls on us all.

Using the term "Medical Cannabis" may have some merits, but most of your average joes know it as pot or weed, even those who don't smoke, so when you say "medical cannabis" they already know you're talking about weed. It may sound more clinical, so people may mentally equate it with nothing more than discussing a perscription with someone, but there's still going to be a big portion of the population who will yell and scream that "recreational" potheads are using the medical cannabis route as a smokescreen for widespread legalization.

(we're using it of course...not as a smokescreen mind you, but it sounds more "evil" if people think you're trying to sneak it in)

i think the reason they don't say marijuana is simply that it's a slang term used from Mexico. the educated consumer will no doubt know what cannabis is. i have to say tho, that just cuz its from nature doesn't make it not a drug :/ its just the degree of toxicity, or lack thereof.
