1 month on grooveshark my review

ok people, i just gotta say this service has been working amazing well for me. every day i can listen to like 20-30 songs that i didnt even think of in years and then just type em in and they are there, they have all sorts of random obscure jazz and techno and every rap rock etc song ive looked for, even some japanese and asian music...

i originally got turned onto it for android, but i use it even more for pc, which is free, i have the 3 dollar a month subscription, which will cost less in a year than i spend in like a day downloading individual mp3s.... 3 bucks a month, and 1 month in , no catches.

but for all of u on pc its free, so wtf are u waiting for, i hope u arent still bulshitting around with pandora. this is so much better.

nope its android only .

..glad to hear it terry! my brother turned me onto it and i havent gone back since!

...was doing some wikipedia reading .... basically the company behind it follows the digital millenium copyright act which pretty much allows users to do whatever they want and service providers (including groveshark) to not be liable for it as long as when a record company requests cooperation to remove specific content from it the company helps and sends warnings to the users who shared those files...

according to wikipedia "In March of 2010, Pink Floyd sued EMG over the amount of royalties the band should receive for digital sales of their music, and as to whether tracks from their concept albums can be sold as singles.[25] Pink Floyd won, and almost all of their tracks have been removed from Grooveshark."

so no pink flloyd i guess. what a shame LOL.

JFK....while you have rarely responded to my replies regarding politics (bfd)
Grooveshark is.......exceptional .

Search Rustic Overtones, Rooms By The Hour

Yes, a Slayer fan is pimping one of the best commercially unknown ska/rock bands from Maine you all have probably never heard of.

How would you rate it against services like Pandora, Slacker radio, Spotify?

Right now I'm using Pandora for streaming digital and Iheardradio to listen to broadcast stations.

Grooveshark's, preset radio blows...It is all about making playlists, and listening to specific songs...

Pandora has became almost a joke, I spend more time skipping songs and thumbs downing things than actually listening to music...

I love Last.fm for the charts and recommendations, their radio is better than pandora or grooveshark...

At the end of the day i usually end up throwing on a playlist in 'iturds' dj and have been stoked by the results, so much so, i turned genius off entirely...

werd, the radio tends to work better when you use a song as the base instead of a genre but on the whole, far to many skips for me on the pre-set hip-hop, and indie stations....

Got exactly the same thing going on and the stations 18 months old so it should have learned far better than it has. I still have to wait for the hourly skip resets at this point so I'm thinking Pandora's not for me. When I want to hear a bunch of random crap I'll make a station for that. When I know exactly what I want to hear the huge variances Pandora makes from your stations theme is aggravating at best.

Grooveshark is smarter in terms of what songs to put in next on Radio. plus you can dislike and skip songs at your discretion with no supid ass limit, there's no commercials.. Pandora is a joke.
Last.fm is legit but it doesn't have near the amount of capabilities of Grooveshark.

And yeah Mikey, all of Del is ill.
he's got some silly lame beats but his lyrics is always killin

i recommend you check out Clockwork by Blackalicious
And "The Yes and the Ya'll" by Aesop Rock

another cool thing about vip is u can download an app instead of having to open it in a web browser (or maybe u can do it with the free one too im not exactly sure but i thought it said vip only). not much different but its nice to have it as an app instead of in a web browser

grooveshark is either gonna get shutdown in the next few months or it will have an ipo and become the next youtube.... im still not sure which . its so awesome if they can legally operate it even if they have to make it a 10 dollar a month subscription or something i think many many people would pay for it

yeah, I think the widget is VIP only. and that does sound nice but I just went ahead and made it my browser homepage, so as soon as firefox opens its loading already.

After only a day or so it "feels" like grooveshark is already dialing in on what I want to hear. I'd say it about equal with my pandora station this point which is awesome considering how little time I've had it.

Nice recommendation man, thanks.
