Music like?
Each a very distinct style.
Which do you feel 'closer' to? I went with Floyd, technical, edgy and eccentric. An acquired taste in some ways. Make your own fuckin' thread if you don't like the choices.

I chose Zeppelin because JP is the man who made me think I should use my bass vocals speak through a bass guitar.
Nothing rocks my socks like sexy electric blues lines and convulsing psychedelic mayhem. I have to put Waters bass influence in a close second spot along with the general feel of the rest of the music. Lord knows I pseudo jammed a 'Saucer full of Secrets' on various acid trips. And since it's not on the list... I HAVE to give LESH props. His funky style and range of abilities is inspiring. He's the 3rd in the Trinity of influences, but like the 'real' trinity it's hard to separate and these too. But straight up JP is why I picked up a bass.

Queen.
I don't care who you are, Freddie Mercury's vocal range and technical compositions are unrivaled.

I'd like to toss some chips on "why can't people stop using people's race and religion against them to win some imaginary prize?"
Whatever happened to just calling someone a good ole' fashioned secular 'stupid fuck'? There are fucks in every country, creed and ideology, and I'm not sure if there is an official "Stupid" organization to offend, that's just an good insult that everyone dislikes having aimed in their direction. I'll also throw some props to "More" my Floyd. That may be THE, next to "Obscured by the Clouds" as my most played Floyd.

As for the poll, now, definitely Zeppelin. Always listened to it on the radio with my old man growin up, whether I was workin with him or driving around. Pink Floyd was more of my drug induced teenage bullshit years, and I don't feel terribly united with it anymore. Doesn't mean I can't get down on no Floyd anymore, but definitely enjoy the Zeppelin catalogue as a whole more.

They all have their merits. I was never terribly big on The Who or The Stones, and I can't help but agree with Komp on Queen. My votes gotta go to Zeppelin though, as they are the only band out of those that I really ever put on anymore. Floyd is a close second but I haven't much listened to them in a couple years.

His life experience does not match the life experience of the members in a tribe called quest, and i find it comical that he considers himself close to their music/culture
To write it out so you can understand it I also love that particular group, but I dont consider myself "close" to the music because nothing in my life matches up with the lyrical content in the songs To write it out so you can understand it

Maybe the catch is assuming what he means by 'close to'?

maybe hes a fucking idiot and he mistook 'what music do you like' for 'what music do you feel close to'
just 'throwing out' that possibility to everyone
