what is your favorite kind of cheese?

seriously
everybody loves cheese

at my kid's school there's like one kid who doesn't like cheese and all the kids hate him

personally

i like swiss and monterey jack, but i'm usually on a budget and just buy the cheap marble brick at the store

My son in law doesn't like cheese (except on pizza for some reason). Odd, but I'm glad to know that he's looking after my daughter's happiness and wellbeing when another, lesser man might be distracted by some cheese.

I am a big fan of good ole yellow and square American cheese. It makes the best grilled cheeses on sourdough, IMO.

I'm not entirely sure I have a favorite. I haven't really met one I 100% didn't like. Well I'm not big on american cheese but it'll work on certain shit. I'll go with provolone just off the fact that I probably use it the most.

Mozzarella
Gruyere
Babybel (whatever the hell kind of cheese that is)
Cheese Strings
good ol' Kraft cheese slices
cream cheese

and of course, the atomic orange powder that passes for cheese in Kraft Dinner (can that even be counted as cheese?)

We just stopped on the weekend at the St-Alberts Cheese Factory.....

We got 2 kilo bags of shredded cheese......mozz. cheddar and monterey for 23 bucks a bag!

We're having pizza tonight....don't tell.....but I plan on sprinkling some primo bud flour on just before I take it out of the oven......so not to burn off the THC.

Would a picture give y'all an appetite?

Smoked cheese rock my socks, Gouda comes to mind.

I like to eat a local goat cheese slathered in pepper corns on crackers.

Gorgonzola !!!

There were a billion awesome cheeses in the Balkans. I don't know the names of them, but they were young and creamy.

Brie is a Winter Solstice trad. with oranges, crackers and a bottle or two of champagne.

Cheese I don't like. Blue Cheese.

I can eat a little in salad dressing, but it always ends up tasting funny in burps, so I avoid it.

Tillamook Sharp Cheddar. I've had some great cheeses so far, used to work at a place that had worldwide imported cheeses. Just walked around and tried new shit. However, Imma simple man. Gimme some good sharp cheddar and I'm happy

Gruyere and Havarti with some chives and horseradish, white wine, sake, and mirin.

50/50 Havarti and Gruyere (4 oz total weight)
1/2 tsp of finely chopped chives.
1/2 tsp of horseradish
1 1/2 tsp of chopped scallions.

Base is 2 oz of white wine, 1 oz of Mirin, 1 oz Sake.
Cooking varieties of these will do just fine.

Ideally, you need a fondue pot or a double boiler for this, so you can heat the base for about 30 seconds, and add the horseradish and chive. Stir the base, chive and HR like you would beat an egg for a few moments.
Stir in the cheese in 1/3 at a time, whipping it until it looks like it has the consistency of warm honey.
Add the scallions.

Best enjoyed with rosemary bread, and some veggies.

It's good. Better with your favourite white wine.

Other Cheeses...
Fontina
Butterkase (Butter cheese)
Raclette
Asiago, because you can enjoy several different ways depending on how it's aged.

I think Tillamook makes some great cheeses.
I always go past the deli to see what cheese they are featuring at the grocery store. The other day I bought a small piece of some cheddar that was $26.99 a lb.

And it was worth it.

I'm partial to a nice New York sharp cheddar, the kind that makes your cheeks tingle.

I also dig a slice of Muenster melting on a juicy sirloin burger.
