I love it. Watch it all the time.

That being said, it can at times glorify the thug life. But only those who would go down that road anyway would be swayed.

I especially like the biker ones.

i dunno if it glorifies it as much as it looks as it in an objective light. like just interviewing gang members and letting them say their piece about why they do what they do. they dont offer any bullshit opinions or try to claim any moral highground, its just a pretty thorough documentation of whats happening.

i see what your saying though, but something tells me that the majority of people who watch these shows wouldnt be inclined to that lifestyle anyway.

i mean if your a wannabe gangster watchin this bullshit to try and feel hard i just feel bad for you.

The lifestyle fascinates me.

But it's like anything else that specializes in intimidation and death, $ $ $. The root of all evil.

The other night my neighbor (the one who got the dog ) rolled up to his house on his moped with like 4 other black dudes on scooter and one white guy apparently named "big mike". I thought the idea of them having a scooter gang was hilarious as can be. Then I saw that one of them had put lights all over the side of his scooter and I laughed even harder.

Also I've never really felt the urge to watch this show for some reason. Pretty sure it runs on the same channel as Locked Up and I watch that though.

that sounds like something that could be a reality in japan.

locked up abroad, is that the show yer talkin about? about people who go to foreign lands, get abducted, tortured, raped, and somehow escape?

that show is great, hulu carries it in case anyone is interested

edit- no more full eps here Locked Up Abroad - Hulu

i also highly enjoy the prison-themed gang shows, some interesting shit happens in those prison gangs.

so ganglife: is it more interesting than 75% of the jobs out there?

what about the risks vs benefits of other means of employment?

Every episode is exactly the same.. I guess thats because there really isnt much depth to the subject matter. There are a few exceptions, but all these gangs are is a bunch of ignorant kids who grew up into violent ignorant adults, and killed each other off, but not before 1 of them retires in time to do an interview for the history channel.

I still watch it tho, sometimes they have gangs that are actual successful criminal organizations and the people they interview have more to say then the usual bullshit.

Is this the show that's had a huge marathon on or something? I just remember the one with the kid in a wheelchair in Oakland. eheeehee. I don't watch it on the regular though because it makes me sad. :/

The craziest one was the guy little bear who literally had his guts hanging out of his stomach in a clear plastic bag
