Beatles or Rolling Stones
I was really on the fence about this for a long time. I mean, I love them both. The Stones have some monumental songs (Sympathy for the Devil, Beast of Burden, Gimme Shelter, Ruby Tuesday) and they've got a blues style that is irreplaceable in Rock history.
However, I think I have to go with the Beatles. You got a band there that started with catchy songs like "hold your hand" and they worked through one reinvention after another until they broke up, with each new style as genius as the last. The Revolver/Rubber Soul period, The White Album, Sgt. Pepper, Abbey Road. Rock wouldn't be the same without them. So, if you had to live in a world with just one (and I think this says alot about a person, and who they are in their soul), who would you pick? ![]() The Rev |

Left hand bass ftw....
![]() I didn't know they wrote this song for a long time. I'd way rather listen to Beatles, there is enough other rockin roll in the world without the Stones, who I unfairly here, have almost no connection to. I like the heady stuff I've heard from them and it's feel good and all, but it don't thrill me much. I probably crank the Jump Jack Flash like the other 70% of the world. Now if you said Zeppelin I might have had a shit hemorrhage. You all should post some vids and give me a taste of the good shit.

They're the only 'country' band I like. Oh yeah, they did straight up country...

Beatles...They quit touring at the right time, made great full albums, broke up before they could make a shitty record, and they had a greater far-reaching overall impact on music in general...
The Stones....Have been around forever...

LOL is this even a question?!?!?!
The beatles literally have a major hit in almost every musical genre...and these hits have lasted decades and will continue to last. On top of this, the beatles, lennon in particular, have played a pretty major part in history. Give peace a chance? the stones did their thing sure, but the beatles did it and then some. The beatles changed musical history as well obviously ... shit. They even kick started the musical wave that the stones surfed in on. like im a stones fan too but this is a rediculous question. Cmon rev i could go on and on. im sorry but i do not approve of this question.

The Beatles had 27 #1 hits in about 7 years.
The Stones had 9 #1 hits in about 50 years. Beatles ftw |

Really numbers should have nothing to do with what you prefer unless all you care about is that "everyone else likes them best". FWIW, the stones and the Beatles have been two of my favorite bands for years. Can't compare apples and oranges.

the stones were like the beatles rowdy little brother. he hangs out on the street corner tryin to look tough but its only cuz hes insecure that he wont amount up to what his brother amounted to! and he couldnt hope to anyway because unfortunately his older bro is the best band of all time. so he just sorta does his thing.

Never been a Stones fan. Not that I don't like their music, just that I haven't really ever gone out of my way to listen.

I gotta go with the Beatles. The Stones had some great songs, don't get me wrong, but the Beatles have had more songs that I still enjoy listening to, while I never put in the Stones anymore.
