whats the nicest way you've flown?
Flying basically sucks, i hate it for a variety of reasons, but its the best way to get from one place to another obviously so i deal with it like the rest of u .
i was just wondering has anybody ever flown anything other than coach? what are your first class. prestige class, private cabin, etc experiences like? anybody ever done this? i was looking at flights from ny to dubai. just for entertainment. and to get a korean air or emirates airlines private cabin thingy (its actually just an enclosed seat but its the most luxurious kind there is) ... to go from ny to dubai roundtrip was 18,000 bucks .... EIGHTEEN THOUSAND!!!! ok now if you could afford to drop 20k on a flight wouldnt u just rather own your own gulfstream jet ? like i checked what a coach seat on those flights was, it was like 1799 round trip.... so you save 16 thousand dollars by just sitting in a shitty seat.... i find it hard to imagine ANYBODY would pay that kind of dough. you could buy a house after like 10 trips if you just flew coach instead of in that thing... but ill bet it is pretty sweet. so anybody ever been in any real nice seats or first class or anything? how is it? ![]() this is fucking nice, but 20 grand ? DAMN

I flew first class to Atlanta in 5th or 6th grade. My uncle works for Delta down there and he had given me and my brother's "buddy passes".
I had to stay back a week or so for some reason and because I was alone and young they put me in first class. I was sitting next to what I now realize to be a MILF and I was in the row in front of Jim Kelly who snored like a buzzsaw and when some kid who was younger than me asked for his autograph he literally told the kid to "fuck off". It was only a 3 hour flight though, so I don't remember much about it. Aisle seat, no food.

I flew first class to the UK this past summer (air canada). My mom is a frequent flyer and hooked up the free upgrades. To be honest, it wasn't all that great. You get a little more room to stretch your legs, can lay flat like a bed (thats the best part, but I couldn't sleep anyways), and way better food/service. Oh and you don't have some fat asshole next to you snoring in your face.
It is in no way worth the extra ~$5000 if you pay full price. If I had to 'appraise' the value of the upgrade (ie what its worth to me), I'd put it at like $200-400. |

I've been in business class for short flights, which is worth the fifty bucks...
But NY > Dubai... too much goddamn money dude. Unless they blow you on demand, totally not worth it.

I've flown First, Business and Economy, both domestic and international.
It's all relative to the airline, as American based carriers have much more restrictions on what they can do than other international airlines. Case in point, Emirates' coach class i'd say rivals most US domestic business/first class. If I'm flying international, it's definitely worth it upgrading your seat, especially if you're going to be spending 13-14 hours in the air. By upgrade I mean business class, first class is definitely for those with money to burn. With customer loyalty programs, you're business class seat can often be upgraded to first class since statistically First is the most empty. For short domestic trips that are at most 3-4 hours, coach is fine.

Bigger chairs, armrests, and they serve more drinks to you. The meal is usually different, something fancier.
I'm going to be flying in the near future to Tennessee to move. I'll be living without a car in Clarksville. Not to derail your thread, John, but has anyone been to TN? I've never even been to the South. I'm a little nervous actually. I'm going to be walking to work, and everywhere else my brother won't drive me. Can someone help me out here. If I made my own thread on this no one would answer. |

I got to fly, unsupervised minors style, to Hawaii when I was 10. My mom was already there, and me and my siblings flew to meet her. We got alot of attention and looking after from the stewardesses. They gave us free "wings" pins and decks of cards. It was great.

Business is great. Instead of being alone in my own little "pod" I can get drunk and bs with every1 around me. Being stuck in a hole with a tv for 16 hours isn't fun.
I know now a days its rare but HUMAN INTERACTION IS FUN>

I've done coach, business, and first. Business class was nice enough, but leather seats and arm rests in first was really nice.
The best part was looking back and seeing everyone cramped for space and restrooms in coach. |

Every state is awesome.
Look up TN tourism and get a magazine sent to your house, they have tons of awesome stuff to see and do, especially any of the bigger cities, like any other state. TN is mad beautiful though. ...(Never been to Minnesota)

i've only been on three flights in my whole life, all three were to get my family from ukraine to canada. we were on coach (i think) the whole time. the first one from kiev to paris was pretty cool, got to see the eifel tower from the window, food was ok, 3 hour flight, not too bad. got to chill in paris for 2 days because they had some sort of a strike. then paris to london, which was one hour, hit some turbulence, still not too bad, food was ok. the last leg was from london to toronto, which was 6 hours and that was bit exhausting for my 9 year old self, but again wasn't tooo bad. this was pre 9/11, now i'd rather take a train or something

JetBlue, from what I've seen, has no Business/First Class. All the seats are spaced so you get "four extra inches of legroom". Decent flight, nice staff. Flew Aer Lingus a few times, again, decent experience. One stewardess was mad cool, she hooked me up with free booze the whole way. Fly AirTran several times a year. Cheap tickets, cheap service, although one time I had a flight cancelled on me CAK-LGA and the agent at the check-in switched my flight and bumped me up to Business Class free of charge for an exchange ticket to Logan. The five hour Chinatown bus from Boston to NYC was not nearly as awesome. I never understood people who are willing to pay out of pocket for anything other than coach. It's not like you're getting to the destination any faster than everyone else on the plane. I agree with MotherNature. Spend the upgrade money on drugs.
