much has been said about this, how all the empire people talk with british accents and all the good people talk in american accents . etc..

but what i wanna comment about is specifically the character mace windu and the 3rd movie revenge of the sith.


now, there was never any black jedis in any of the old movies, lando calrisian was basically the only black person in the original films... fine...


so they decided to have samuel l jackson play an important jedi...great right? black guy gets a jedi position and everything seems fair and equal in the jedi universe...

but the more i thought about this theme when i was watching revenge of the sith the more it seemed like they had set up jacksons character as the stupid jedi and the one who basically fucked shit up and caused the entire empire to rise to power etc...


so it made me wonder, i wonder if lucas conciously or not made the black jedi the one who fucked shit up for the rest of the universe when he handled the palpatine confrontation badly and got killed.


first of all, anakin comes to him and tells him palpatine is a sith lord- jacksons response , in keeping with the all around crappy dialogue of this movie is "A SIth....LORD?" yea dumbass...thats what he said, what are they trying to stereotype blacks as being slow or something?


then he refuses to let anakin come with him to capture palpatine (another decision that basically caused all the problems to happen)... another bad jedi decision on the backs of the only black jedi..

then when the 4 show up to arrest palpatine, (aka the emperor) they all get their asses kicked so fast its ridiculous- then i was watching and guess what? of the 4 jedi that go to arrest him, not a single 1 is white, its 1 black guy and 3 alien type jedis.... so it made me think ok lucas probably couldnt bear to see a white jedi get killed or even worse that its because no white jedi where with them that palpatine was able to beat them so easily....its like, if they would have known he was dangerous why would they bring only the crappy jedi that get lightsabered immediately.... presumably in the lucas universe if only the would have had one white jedi with them all would have gone fine...


so basically when i started to watch the movie with that idea that it was a subtle overtone of white superiority it actually made more and more sense as it went on.


anybody else have any comments about my amazing analysis here? (not about my mental state for writing out a big thread about old star wars movies, but about my idea )

what are the odds that all the jedi who went to get killed by palpatine were either black or aliens? not a single white jedi went to die or fuck up the major scene where palpatine becomes the emperor? its like lucas couldnt bear to have a white jedi fuck shit up .

if you read some more commentary on the film, you will probably see that you are missing the broader connections that lucas made to history and modern society.

the story is an allegory about false flag terrorism. i havent done any reading on it in quite a while, but some of the parallels to real events are actually pretty interesting. id recommend doing a search if this kind of stuff is interesting to you

actually lucas from what i remember modeled the entire mythology of the jedi and stuff over eastern philosophy. specifically buddhism, and zen buddhism and the teachings of the tao.
