new gold charm

hate all yall want...

got it for 50% off since i deal with the jeweler every time, 14k gold with a ring of diamonds...not a bad deal for 400 since it weighs about half a oz of gold.

It can't have a 1/2 oz of gold in it. Gold is currently trading at over $1300/oz, which would make your trinket worth $650 for the gold alone. Unless your guy is into selling at a steep loss, I'm thinking "plated".

Sorry.

He paid $400 at half price, which would check out though.

1/2 price is half off of retail, which is a markup of anywhere from 100%-300% for a typical jeweler. It's not half off cost, McFly.

Jewlery unfortunately is not dated.

design could be 15 years old, making the jewlers original cost alot less than 400 smackers.

ie. my 1970 $250 class ring would sell now for over $2000

just a thought.

the little letters engraved on the jump link (holding the charm) progably says 14k ...meaning the jump link is 14k gold...or 14kgf, meaning gold filled (gold over (usually) silver.

each part is supposed to have the same sort of stamp.

the links on the ends of the chain...and the charm itself.

if the 14k gold weighs about half an oz theres a conversion for how much gold is in 14 karat gold... hang on... ok 58.3 percent gold.

thats a standard measurement, so if it weights about a half oz its got a little more than a quarter ounce of gold in it. so at 1300 oz its 300-350 worth of gold roughly. so yea that sounds about right.

u gotta remember 14k is 58.3 percent gold then it makes sense.

Thumbs up

nice, its 14 karat too ?

whatever the case thats a fucking nice turnaround ... like buying stocks but you dont have to pay taxes on the gains ... you def bought that chain at the right time . although who knows it might be 2000 oz soon enough.

even if its 14 karat its gotta be worth over 1000 bucks, if its 18 karat or 24 karat could be close to 2 gs.
