sea glass

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/19/sc...me&ref=general

this article caught my eye because i actually have collected this stuff at a bunch of different beaches before.

another thing i like to collect at the beach is neat oddly shaped bits of driftwood.

but yea the glass bits you can find at the shoreline and in the water are pretty awesome, they look all cloudy and smooth like they were polished in a rock tumbler or something.

a few years ago i found some tiny little blue bits and some yellowish whitish ones that glow under a blacklight, this article talks about that kind! pretty fucking neat.

anybody else ever done this ?

have you ever tumbled stones ?

very cheap simple hobby.

+ ALL women love pretty shiney stones.

It's something I enjoy also. The discovery of something really cool inside a plain looking rock.

never answered the post.

sort of.

I like to look particularly for pieces of shells, ever so gradually rounded, and smoothed by sand, waves, time, and agressive small children with tiny shovels.

metal detecting can be fun too.

tumblings stones is a fun lil hobby. We have lots of agates around my home and they look quite nice shined up. Also its fun to mix stones with polymer clay....polymer clay in general is awesome too.
