Smoke Em If You Got Em - I'm a Grandpa!!
It's official! At 1:48 this morning, my daughter gave birth to a healthy baby girl! I am now to be counted among the grand. Now, before I go soak my dentures, here's a picture of my daughter, and the beautiful new addition she and her husband have brought to our family...

Grats Rev, aren't babies great? And the best part about being grandpa is, when the screaming and crying start to grate on your nerves, you just hand 'em over to mom or dad!

That is 1 little cutie-pie, Rev....Best wishes to the proud parents & of course, to the proud grandpop!! Man dude, you must've had your kid(s) at a young age...to be a grandfather already.
I was 37 when my son was born because when I was in my 20s, I was partying WAY too much to even consider marriage/having a kid/basically, responsibility. My folks were 44 [dad] & 41 [mom] when I was born, so my parents were always like the ages of my friends' grandparents. I continue the tradition. I'm 56 & my son is 19. He isn't even close to settling-down. When my dad was 56, I was 12. Now, I'm glad I didn't wait any longer. Anyhow, once again, my congratulations to you, my friend...& Debaser has the right idea -- when you're playing with your grandchild & you start to smell something funky -- "Hey there parents!! It's time for diaper-duty!!" -- I remember many a time having to drag the garbage can over to where I was changing my son's diaper, as some of those 'loads' was heave-city!!

Well, I kinda had it both ways, Zolt. My daughter is a step-child, so I didn't even meet her until she was 15 and I was 33. So, I got to be a reckless youth, and have my kids young, as it worked out. (Plus, no diapers
). I have always said, and will continue to say, that it is much better to inherit one's wealth than to earn it.So, as it turns out, my granddaughter gets it both ways, as well. She gets to have a mellowing old Rev for a grandpa, without having to put up with any of the genes that made young Rev such a miserable and angry depression case. So it works out for us both. ![]() The Rev |
