Not sell outs at all. They're business people who see a huge amount of cash flying out the window. I read somewhere (High Times...one of them) that Cali's looking at $38 ounces within 6 months of legalization. Still a shitload more than apples, but a major price cut nonetheless.

I'm not saying I agree with them, but you can't fault someone for voting against something that's going to cut off their nose.

The growers fears are misplaced, just because it will be legal to grow and possess and use doesn't mean anyone is going to be the first to step up to the plate and go for a full scale commercial distribution system.

In other words, just because we the people say let's go! Doesn't mean you'll be able to buy joints at 7-11 on Nov. 3rd. Lee Baca said if the state says yes, he'll uphold federal statutes and bust users, growers, distributors, whoever because marijuana is illegal.

he's 68 so forced retirement should be the states next proposition, particularly since he grosses at least 1/4 million a year.

But tell me seriously, isn't this hick sheriff a bit out of his league fucking with a federal marshal's jurisdiction/job.

You have to be a lawyer to find out for real, but federal marshals have authority federally, state to state, and locally , but tend to work primarilly on federal investigations (violations of federal statutes)

I haven't found anywhere yet, that gives a local yocal that range of authority .

What would stop a pro pot sheriff from a pro pot county, from arresting Baca for violating state laws on legalization if passed ?

Cali's judicial branch should take another look at a sheriff who only enforces the laws he personally wants to...as there are surely kickbacks comming from somewhere...perhaps his re-election funding/backing.
