i think this thread would get more attention if the title wasn't so lame.

i hope the convo picks up though...i'm reallly interested in what we think about this.

i think it's fuckin' weird, and i think we did it, even though military is saying they didn't.

When asked, however, what he thought it might be, the former ambassador said it could possibly have been a missile test timed as a demonstration of American military might as President Obama tours Asia.

"It could be a test-firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile from a submarine … to demonstrate, mainly to Asia, that we can do that," speculated Ellsworth.
terrific.

No one cared about the missile that shot over Nova Scotia a couple of months ago either

You're absolutely right.

The first thing that raced through my mind was TWA Flight 800 that went down south of Long Island.

That the Navy and Air Force don't know ANYTHING about this doesn't raise any alarm about this with anyone?

'Military and aviation officials said Tuesday they don't know who may have launched a mysterious object spotted in the sky late Monday off the Southern California coast, but noted that whatever the projectile was, it did not pose a threat to national security'

Let me make sure I understand this correctly. Someone, whose identity is unknown to Military and Aviation Officials launched a 'projectile' which by the way is a SYNONYM for 'Missile'.

'Officials with the Defense Department, the Navy and the Air Force said they did not have any details on the object or its launch site. Pentagon officials said that initial indications were that the military was not involved.'

Really. REALLY?? So, the Military is NOT involved, so far, and nobody knows who launched the missile, excuse me, projectile, 35 miles away from the coast of the United States. A missile could easily eclipse the amount of damage a commercial airliner can do.

Total bag of shit explanation.

But half the people who read about this will blow it off.

for anyone of you who thinks this has no military connection is a complete retard..

If the pentagon really doesn't know, then we are overpaying for our military. We can get incompetence for far less than what we pay.

If the pentagon really doesn't know."
Why would they declare it's NOT a national threat if they don't know who did it? Are you guys really that dense?

See Spanky, that's one of the problems with the explanation. It was a missile, but the statement calls it a 'projectile' that can most certainly deliver a payload of destruction. But, even though they deny any knowledge of it's origination, a missile doesn't pose any threat.

It's of great concern that something like this happens and the Military tells us not to worry about it. That a mobile launch pad could be moved that close to the country and them NOT being worried about it-people are supposed to be chill about it?

So, if what the Military is saying is true, I should chill. Because we can't get better incompetence for the money we are all ready spending.

But, if what the Military is saying isn't true, I should also chill.
Because, if they did fuck something up of that magnitude and are covering up the error, they are still displaying a brilliant amount of incompetence.

That's not acceptable.

i consider pretty much every military explanation of anything ever to be a lie.

and apparently another missile launch happened earlier this year somewhere that went unnoticed aswell (read it on another site). and according to sage, another went over nova scotia.

basically, any way this incident can be explained will be bad, even if the quoted ambassador is right.

imo

yeah, I read this one article in the Air&Space magazine where this former test pilot for Area51 claimed they've been using the "UFO" excuse for over 50 years for their experimental aircraft.

You can't take everything the military says as true, correct information, otherwise you will be a seriously confused individual.
