A/S/L... it's all anyone wants to know

It has become routine to introduce myself to people now days. Normally I wouldn't have to but it's come to a point where I just seem like a piece of furniture if I don't tell someone, ANYONE my A/S/L. But also I gotta ask theirs too. It's an intimate ritual but the results are profound.

People want to know your age. They just do. But how often do you tell them up front, within minutes of meeting that person? You may not notice it but it usually takes a long time for you to reveal that information. Usually people end up having to put you on the spot anyway and straight up asking you..

"How old are you?". Many consider that to be a rude question, right? But why? It's sooo fucking important, isn't it? Shouldn't we broadcast it asap?

The same goes for sex and location. Obviously IRL people can tell if you're male or female, but the broader meaning of sexuality can still apply in face to face interraction. Tell them you're married/single. Tell them you're straight/gay. Hint that you are looking for sex. And as far as location, tell them where you live.

What was the first thing you used to get asked in chat rooms? ASL, because that was the most important info you could get on someone. The tip of the iceberg, naturally.

So I'm experimenting with the gravity of the ASL question. Even though it's uncomfortable I'm trying to force myself to reveal my ASL to everyone I meet as soon as possible and also straight up asking them their ASL as soon as politely possible.

Once you get the ASL out of the way you're basically no longer strangers.

ASL.... ask it and tell it. Always.

i dont think people consider sex and location as too controversial

age is different because up until a certain age you are fine with telling your age to people. but when you hit that wall at 30-40 years old when you be talkin with a sweet lady who is clearly younger and more attractive than you, you will understand why that question is controversial. actually if you dont understand why that question is controversial after me explaining it like that, you are probably really dumb.

neither age, sex, nor location are really essential for a friendly relationship.

I have hundreds of people I've met and befriended on the internet, most of which I doubt I'll ever meet in person.

unless they're minors, I could really give a rats ass about their age or sex.

^^ And that right there is why people tend to be such douchebags on the internet. Just because someone is not geographically close to you, and the chances are slim you will ever meet them face to face, doesn't make them any less real. That's like me saying China isn't a "real life" country.

As long as people keep perpetuating the idea that people they talk to online are somehow not a part of "real life", it gives haters, trolls and douchebags a free pass to talk to and treat other humans like crap.

I heavily concur with this statement....

But Debaser is more 'real' to me now since I have been his house guest, not, dude has always had my friendship and respect, this just affirmed that we could have it for each other in the same room, just a little closer than in the same country and world
