crazy nice person i met tonight

so i was at the store and i happened to grab 4 quarters from the bottom of my drawer not realizing that i accidentally grabbed some silver ones i had that had slipped out of a bag of em that i had...

i go to pay and hand him the 4 quarters along with some other ones that werent silver.... the kid looks at them and goes , yo man u know these are worth like 4.50 a piece even at melt value right?

I knew that, but i didnt realize i had accidentaly put 4 of the silver ones in with my other ones...

so this kid was like yea man i collect these things they are awesome.... talk to him for a bit and stuff, and then left.

and i just couldnt believe such a random act of kindness by a random person.... i didnt notice i gave him them, and he obviously noticed em right off the bat and could have very easily taken em, subed in a dollar out of his pocket and taken em home and made 20 bucks extra tonight.... but instead he gave em back to me and was really nice talking about coin collecting and shit...

damn. random acts of kindness....i was literally blown away thinking about it... i have half a mind to go back and give him one of them just for helping me out like that.

crazy when people are nice like that .
its probably the nicest thing someone has ever done for me for no reason.... (maybe not nicest, but damn nice nonetheless)

next time he's working you should just leave him one of the quarters and a little joint on the desk. Random acts of kindess are sweet, but random acts of weed are even sweeter!

This is what it is going to be like when artificial intelligence learns how to emote...Or you could say, when robots learn to feel....

Today was progress...

no no... realistically that'll seem like jwonder has a crush on the guy. don't overthink his casual, slightly nerdy observation as some sort of sign of destiny bringing you two together.

Why is this so fucking hard to believe? The other day I'm walking out to my car after spending the afternoon in the ER with my wife, there is an elderly black woman with her husband in a wheelchair digging in her purse for her phone, when she found it as I was passing she said 'Oh my, it seems the batteries are dead' to the security guard sitting next to her (A young man of about 25, with TWO visible cell phones on his belt) and without a thought I stopped and handed her my phone and said 'maam, do you need to call someone, can I give you a hand?' Turns out her ride was on the other side of the hospital and they drove right around to pick them up.

I wasn't being 'nice' or looking for a thank you, on the contrary I was taught that if I didn't help and my mother found out, I was probably in line for an ass whooping. This is something I taught my children and hopefully they'll pass it along. Mind you there is a limit to random acts of kindness and they know that as well.

Wrong... I never expect anything for doing nice things and not getting anything out of a RAC will not deter me from doing it again. What you can do is pay it forward so to speak and keep the random act of kindness going like a wave in a stadium. But never do it for your own satisfaction either, that's also not what it's about.

Crazy when people DON'T act like that, we're all on the same fuckin' rock with each other, why we don't strive as hard as we can to all get along makes no sense to me.

One of the coolest random acts of kindness came uopn me while I was living in Toronto, I probably even posted about it but that was a looong time ago. I was walking down Yonge St. with my gf and this dude just pops out of a building right beside me and asks me for a light. No big deal, I give him a light, and hesparks up a joint while beginning to walk with us, he takes a few hits and then passes it to me and my gf, we hit on it and passed it back. The guy then handed me back my lighter and literally vanished through some random doorway into a building, leaving me and my gf standing there going "did that just happen?" It was kind of like a walk-by session. It was pretty sweet...probably would have seemed a bit weird if I wasn't already high, but still cool nonetheless.

best thing someone did for me was run me down in high school cuz i dropped my wallet after i thought id put it back in my pocket. "Hey, you dropped your wallet!" omg, she just walked away, barely got a chance to thank her for not taking my $300 cash.

I was at the ATM waiting for this lady to take her money out and in a hurry i guess, grabs the money and starts going to go shop for her groceries. As i was about to put my check card in the slot, out pops hers. I eventually tracked her down and was grateful to say the least. These types of things really make people aware there are good honest people, especially in Minnesota nice territory

kindness always comes back; and unfortunately so does evil. for some people, if they get fucked over, they feel since someone did it to them, they need to go and act foolish themselves.

I'd venture to guess that a greater portion of the general public would notice the different sound when you give someone silver coinage.
