**-__^**The Official Fall/Winter 2010 Beer Thread**^__-**

Other thread got deleted.

This is made by Greene King, brewed in England.

Brewed in limited quantities. One of the best beers I've ever drank.

grabbed this around halloween, anything from Great Lakes is good but they really hit a home run with this stuff..

about 11-12$ for 4 beers but hot damn it's worth it, just so smooth and so much flavor. 6.8 abv i think?

edit- that English ale does look supreme

Crazy Wilson over here in Toronto that is a beer I see a lot of as well.

Here is today offering from the Mill Street brewery:

A nice blend of hops and malts w/ a pinch of citrus. Good for the dark and the hop lovers in our household. Easy session beer but packs a nice bite for a drinkable offering.

i bottled 26L of apple cider on the 11th and 12th

i know this thread is about beers but i don't care. i am excited to drink my cider. i have another batch in a primary fermenter (about 35L) and enough apples for about 50L more (but no time to start them fermenting) in my freezer.

first tasting of these batches will be the first week of december.

yeah it gets better with age. i have to wait 3 weeks for the bottles to carbonate. you add a bit of extra sugar before bottling and then the yeast continues to produce co2 which dissolves in the liquid (because its trapped in a bottle and has nowhere to go). i already tasted it before bottling and its pretty good, but it will definitely improve over time.

Those were the first 3 to spring to mind. I actually haven't had a Sam Smith of any kind in way way too long, gonna have to remedy that I suppose.

Oh and I gotta give a nod to Sam Adam's Octoberfest and Winter Lager. Not a fan of theirs in general but those two are certainly worthy, especially on draft.

Once upon a time-well, today actually,

If you look closely, you can see the New Belgium Bicycle log etched into the glass. This fosters a continuous stream of carbonation bubbles to the center of the beer's surface.

Cue the choir

Ummmm!

This came in a 750ml bottle, so it was the volume of a bottle of wine/champagne, and as you have seen, corked.

Flavours of brown Sugar, maple, banana. Medium body, Green Apple aroma.

Opaque, dark red/brown. Two finger head, kind of coats your mouth if you swish it around. It's not 'syrupy' it's more like a very fluid caramel, so the green apple aroma really compliments this beer.

As the beer warms up, flavor really reveals itself.

I think this would be killer with some kind of premium mushroom bacon cheddar burger or Rueben, and a bowl of French Onion Soup, and some warm apple pie.

I let this set during dinner and I am now enjoying with Caramel Ice Cream mixed mini caramel filled chocolate chunks.

Yea, Ice Cream, bitches.

And it's good.

I had some Cooper's Sparkling Ale at Outback last week when I took my wife there for her birthday. I really liked it, it had a small amount of dregs in the bottom of the bottle.

You can even get on their website and order the ingredients to make it yourself!

sierra's celebration is probably my fabourite winter brew. dieu du ciel's l'hiver saison is a close second.. looking forward to grabbing a couple cases and trying to let at least one of them set until like early february when the brewer said it's at its best.

it's a top-fermented barley wine. nice and hoppy, and kind of hard to discern whether it's like a cask-style double ipa or a barley wine. it's a 9.5% abv but doesnt taste like it. definitely warms you up though.
