Seriously man, botany is insane, I dont you about you, but inflorescence and leaf shapes are killing me, on top of another 100 woody/herbacious plants I have to have memorized by mid december.

yep, more or less just mocking his skepticism.

horticulture is not a bad field to go into these days, agriculture is where it's at. we will always need food.

My 'cert' is 3.5 years of working in a greenhouse and growing plants from seed, division and tissue culture. Since then I've been doing landscape construction and garden maintenance work. There are no doubt things I could brush up on with some classes. Most species and sickness I've been able to figure it out w/ minimal research or have worked with people who had more extensive knowledge of it.

I have a green thumb and perhaps with a little class time I could get at least a green hand or up over my wrists a bit.

Working with plants has been really rewarding for me mentally, physically and spiritually.

I hope you find a place to get your hands dirty man, there isn't anything better in my mind

Last April I had to make a 3d model of the horticulture Greenhouse building for one of my classes. On numerous occasions when I would go and measure the site, I'd see some students sitting in a circle, planting flowers and passing a fat joint, and I'd think to myself - "I AM IN THE WRONG PROGRAM!"

Ya man, horticulture students are a breed of their own. We have this place everyone calls the Zen Deck in the back corner of the garden where everybody goes to smoke (this is its main purpose). One time my maintenance teacher was walking back there while we were smoking a joint, and he said, oh its that time of day, eh? And to what Rubix said, I have fucked up most of my classes this semester, due to my marijuana smoking.
