Am I losing my fucking mind?!
I swear, as I'm surfing the net, every now and again my browser seems to 'blink'. I can't describe it any other way, all of the sudden there is another image on the screen and then it's gone. At first I thought it was a problem with refresh rate or some shit like that but now I'm not so sure.
Does anyone know of any subliminal advertising virii out there in cyberspace? Last time this happened, a few seconds before I started this thread, I was close to the screen looking at some detail and -flash- only this time I think I saw something, an ad for fabric softener and here don't you know I'm thinking of fabric softener for no fucking reason. This is fucking spooky but may explain some of my recent out of the ordinary purchases, not weird stuff, but brands I don't usually buy as I'm a store brand cheapskate. It's like the movies in the 50's with the popcorn concessions and the single frame of popcorn and the sales spike... Fuckin' creepy man. Creepy. Not real thrilled with how Google seems to know what I'm thinking as well. ![]()

i noticed that when you look at certain sites and then look at some other unrelated sites all the banner ads will be advertising whatever you were looking at before.
also there's a lot more ads on the internet nowadays, i have msn as my homepage and sometimes there will be a link with a video and there's always a nonskippable commercial before you get to watch the video. same thing with youtube and many other sites that have videos. also did anyone notice how when you watch a vid on youtube, about 10seconds in there will always be a popup ad. and of course the popup ads that come up on certain sites everytime you go to a different page on the site. then there's the commercial clips that start playing on their own with sound and everything and you gotta look for a tiny little button that stops it and sometimes it doesnt even work, its just a way to trick you into going to the link. greedy ratbastard pieces of shit taking over the internet.

Luckily I lost my mind years ago so I don't need to worry about all this nonsense.

I used to think this as well however once I began working in the food industry I can tell you it's all one hundred percent bull shit. The only thing that changes is the wrapper and the price, most everything comes literally from the same vat. Tuna, bread, eggs, peanut butter, soap. It's pretty fucking ridiculous when you think about it, standing there in the aisle deciding which one looks the best but if there was no packaging you'd grab whatever was there. Unwrapped you'd have little chance of telling this jar of Jif compared to this jar of Skippy, mostly because there's no fucking difference. Except thirty five cents.

I was thinking more in terms of paper goods, etc. I mean who likes cheap TP?
there's a rather infamous local professor who insists that even stopping long enough to recognize a price saving is devaluing yourself and your time. |

cheap paper goods are a totally different story. The quality difference is quite obvious. No one buys the cheapest TP except large scale institutions. You can't even get 1-ply at the store.

Dude, I've told you over and over. I'm god, the big bang was more of a pop and the mob and American greed brought down the towers.
