lost inspiration?

back when i was taking mechanical engineering in college i was very proactive about it and eager to learn everything i was taught. after taking a year off, i was psyched to go to university so i can get the bachelor's degree, but everything's been kinda meh lately. although the material is very interesting (all sorts of cool shit like you have a bunch of numbers and letters that dont seem to mean anything, but then you plot it, bam some weird 3d shape appears, methods for finding out how stuff bends when you squeeze it, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, tricky analytical stuff with calculus and integrals, etc etc), the lectures are boring as fuck and im finding it difficult to get back into the whole studying groove. i know i can handle it, but im always finding myself goofing off and procrastinating when i should be studying, when this sort of thing happened to me in college i could snap out of it easily and get back to the task at hand, but its getting more and more difficult. for example right now i should be working on a lab report that's already overdue several days, for the past three days everytime i sit down to work on it i'll work for like five minutes, have to google something, and then catch myself an hour later looking at some stupid shit on the internet. i know what must be done, i just have a few assignments left to finish and make reference sheets for my open notes tests and study for the one test that i really need to study for, and that's it for this semester, get a fresh start next semester, back in the groove, become a hotshot engineer with the iron pinky ring in a year and a half, foolproof plan. but when it comes down to actually doing the work i start blanking out and getting bored really fast and shit piles up.

what the hell is wrong with me?

I haven't been to university yet, but my take on it is you need to visualize the mothafuckin' juicy piece of awesome you're going accomplish with the knowledge and certification you're in the process of acquiring.
