its not just about cheese. people do not realize the gigantic environmental toll that convenience has. what is so hard about grating cheese that you can't do it yourself?

^You're not alone in that POV. I think when you freshly grate parmesan there is something more traditional about enjoying the meal. Fresh ground pepper, too.
And coffee. I grind every day, and it's fresh and I get exactly the amount I want.
