its not actually a non-carbon based life form

the phosphorus linkages are made from arsenic (which has similar reactivity). the oxidation state of arsenic is not able to be the same as phosphorus (which is +5 in the normal linkages) due to the inert pair effect, it is instead probably a +3 ox. state.

its definitely cool and interesting, but people don't seem to understand that it is still carbon based. the problem with non carbon based life is that we have no idea what it is and how to look for it. thats about all i have to say about it.
