lol yeah i agree that disability shit is wack.
Unless maybe they have like a dietary disability where they cant fit into the seat and need to take the test in a different room with bigger seats.

Hey, everyone is fat these days right

One girl in the same class actually was allowed to use her computer on the exam.
WTF
especially lame when disability students take an exam early and then tell their friends all the questions. In engineering no less. Cant be an engineer if yous stupids.
but yeah, i dont agree with that either but at least there is some oversight in those situations.

All these asias have electronic dictionaries. Like mini lapbooks. So who knows what they are able to put on there. So, there could be a lot more on there than just a dictionary program.

Oh, I totally agree it's a disadvantage. What I'm saying is that after these kids graduate, they will still be disadvantaged unless they actually internalize the information. Same thing goes for learning disabilities: you get extra help, you graduate, then you go to work and "Whoops!" - no one there to help you anymore.

If you really want to help these kids, make them stay in school until they learn what it is that diploma says they have learned. Help them along, but help them learn the skills they need to work within the same set of rules and parameters normal operate in.

Then, instead of a bunch of kids with hollow degrees who have been babied their entire lives and are now able to attain jobs for which they are under-qualified, you have people with disabilities they are able to work with and manage.

Unless, of course, you want to let that bleeding heart of yours drown the future of mankind.

in the real world you can use a dictionary

the test is a specific topic- its not an english test, they are being tested on their knowledge of one specific field that they are taking a specific class to learn about

its not fair to them to have questions they cant complete due to their lack of knowledge in an area they are not being tested in

how hard is this to understand

i would say if there is one person who is putting themselves at a disadvantage here it would be the native english speaker who refuses to just study the course material and get a decent grade the old fashioned way because shes worried about the foreign kids who cant read the frickin test. if you rely on other peoples disabilities to get by in life you are only creating a crutch for yourself.

If having a dictionary would only benefit people who cant read the test then why not offer americans to bring one. I'm sure none of them would have.

By the way,
I love how you assume to know my study habits and that I would let something like this "get to me". I am not relying on others disability; rather, i think that all students have the right to be treated as equal.

how much difference does this really make to you?

lets say for example you get 10% lower than someone who used a dictionary. this is probably about the most it would hurt you, provided english isn't your first language (but assuming the you can pass TOEFL/etc exams well enough to be admitted to university). your grade will be marginally lower in the class. overall this class probably represents 1/30th or less of your total gpa when you graduate (if.. you graduate). overall it doesnt make fuck all of a difference. why would waste anyone's time, including your own, complaining about something that doesn't even matter? are you planning on applying to med school, which requires absolutely perfect grades?

you won't make it far with the attitude you have now, and you will realize that even though someone might get a dictionary and perform slightly better than you on some test, it isn't the grades that are important as much as it is important that you learn something in the class. basically you are making a huge deal out of something that is so stupidly unimportant i wonder if you even have the capacity to finish a degree. most of the people who constantly complain about grades and fairness seem to disappear after a few years of education, because they find out that education is not for them.

its not like the teacher wont notice when a foreign student turns in the exact websters dictionary definition of w/e term.

i can see where you are coming from, illest, but i probably wouldnt make a big deal about it unless the class is graded competitively.

Guys, I think we're all overlooking the fact that this is 'reverse discrimination'. Perhaps she really does need a dictionary after all, regardless of her native language.

I think you should probably see if your local news will do a story on this. Shit write a letter to Obama, he knows all about discrimination and reverse discrimination.

It's not important. What matters is this reverse discrimination towards americans.

I refuse to accept that illest is enrolled in anything but a community college, based on the aptitude displayed in "her" previous posts...
