so I'm off the dope!

I spent some serious time in the hospital so the medical staff could minimize my withdraw symptoms. I can only remember one other time where any pain came close to 72 hours of no opiates. I had to have my appendix removed for that one.

So they basically gave me ativan, haldol, clonadine, and benadryl. I pretty much managed to sleep most of the time, although I had a really hard time eating for about a week. I just couldn't stomach any food or liquids. They had me on saline the whole time so I would stay hydrated.

I am back to work now and making money which is great, but what I love even more is not feeling like shit because I hadn't had any opiates in 16 hours.

Yea I have no intentions of starting again. If I really want to tickle my dopamine receptors I can take a few hits of acid or a nice recreational dose of adderall.

I'd prolly stick to just weed for about a month or so. I know it's tough, but when I got off dope, my immediate reaction was to drink a shitload and take a bunch of kpins, a situation which very quickly resulted in my arrest. just spend the money you woulda spent on dope (minus what you woulda spent on dope even though you needed it for bills) and spend it on good herb instead.

congrats for real though you're passed the hardest part!

Hey just a little personal tip, I've been on Gabapentin and Tramadol for my back, and taking that kind of kicked my opiate habit without even trying. I've been off opiates for over a week now, with little thoughts about it. And I've been a daily user for years. So if you start getting the itch, maybe talk to your doc about one of those. Works amazing.
