Was a good decision. Can't much stand the smell anymore to be honest. For a bit there I'd have one when I was drunk as can be but haven't done that in a long time either. Still real proud of my father having quit, that nigga smoked like a chimney and for way too long.

I quit nearly a year ago now. I've had maybe two cigarettes since then randomly, once at a party, once at a show.
One thing someone said to me, my sister actually was, "it's just a stupid thing to do." I found that I really couldn't prove her wrong. Statements like that, respecting my own body, and more than anything having a kid to look out for made quitting quite easy.

anyone who doesnt think that who smokes is in a pure state of denial. course addiction is a whole nother thing, you can know what you are doing is bad for you but conjuring that willpower to actually change is a whole different ballgame.
and of course its easy to continue an addiction that wont kill you for another 20-40 years. seems like a long time away in the moment.

Well yeah it's all the addiction, and either you care enough for fight it off or you don't. Pretty simple stuff. I don't judge folks who smoke, I say go ahead.
What I do have problem with is this whole industrialized way of producing them, filling them with additives and whatnot, which creates 99% of the problems associated with smoking anyways...but of course that's a problem that encompasses all facets of our society: if we're not putting it in our tobacco, we're feeding it to our livestock, spraying it on our vegetables, injecting it into our packaging or burning it into our air. So really, smokers aren't the only ones that are retarded, our who fucking way of doing things is retarded. But smokers and fatties are an easy target right?

i think its just a matter of what are the easiest changes one can make to improve their health
quitting something is the easiest thing you can do, cuz you dont have to do anything. stop smoking. stop eating. thats just my opinion, cuz it was easy as hell for me to quit, and i was a pack a day smoker since 16. i was also fat as hell in high school and when i moved out on my own for a bit and started working full time i stopped eating so much and lost weight. wow so hard.

Good on you Waves.
I am about 14 months out from quitting after smoking for 10 years, pack or more a day. Prior to that I had been smoke free for 8 years after smoking 'socially'- lol, for about 5 years. Yea, I went back. Just like you Mayne. Just letting you know, Bro. So, for any of you that need some inspiration, here's what I thought about when I wanted to smoke- 'You're paying someone to kill you.' It's plain and simple. And true. |

WELL I am currently 24 days free from smoking cigarettes !
Originally I wanted to quit at the start of the year; only made it to 2 weeks, and eventually got up to a pack every day/two days; which is when I ended up deciding to quit on dec. 10th aand it feels.nice.

I've never smoked cigarettes but I heard one story of someone being saved because he was a smoker. He was on a plane that crashed and had to change seats to go in the smoking section (yes, was long time ago). Because he had changed places to smoke he was in a part of the plane were people survived. If he wasn't a smoker he would have died.
Kind of ironic lol |
