Canine Misadventures at Rev's House

I came home last night after picking my wife up from work, and my front window was busted out and my two bigger dogs were gone. Apparently, one of them had broken it out with her head, then they both jumped through and took off. My little dog was still home, and he was PISSED. It took my wife quite awhile to calm him down.

Well, I took the car out and hunted the dipshits down. Long and short, there was no real damage to either of them. The one with the headbutting prowess had a cut on her lip, but it had since stopped bleeding. So, I took them home and boarded up the window, and now I have to get a new fucking window.

So, at this rate, we can now never leave the house all at the same time. Someone always has to be here, unless we can find a way to deal with this. They have gone through windows before, but only open ones. They are also in the habit of opening doors (especially to the kitchen) when we're not home, and laying waste to the trash. I'm thinking that lobotomizing them might be the most expedient solution, but I'm not that steady with a coat hanger.

Any ideas?

This is more or less why I've taken to training them while they're young
really glad you found them both ok though. Woulda been heartbreaking otherwise.

Rev, at least the saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" isn't necessarily true.

I have three retard mixes, actually. The little one in the middle couldn't get to the window, so his ass got left behind.

My daughter and her husband are really good with dog training. They worked with their dog since they got him as a pup, and for the most part, he's pretty good (especially for a hyper ass black lab). She tells me we need to exercise them more, and it's true. They have a good sized yard to run around in, but there's little structure to exercise time (or anything else, for that matter). So, we took them out for a walk tonight and are intent upon doing that every day and see if it helps unwind em a bit.

It's either that or the captive bolt gun.

So....

Why do they stay inside when no one is home?

A big back yard is where dogs belong when master is out, taller fence once is I'm sure cheaper than new glass if this is gonna be a recurring thing.

I have paranoia about leaving my dogs out, even in back, when I'm gone. I have this fear that someone will steal them to sell to a lab. It does happen. Besides, they could just break IN to the house from there.

I was never ok with leaving my dogs out in the yard when I wasn't home either.

Kennels though Rev, buy kennels.

i would never be OK leaving my dogs out side. So glad your pups are OK! I would be besides myself, and my girlfriend would be in the fetal position in the corner.

I hear you. My wonderful fiance had to go home and left me with two wonderful shih tzu's. I keep them in the kitchen.. and since I work 12-14 hour days for the most part they shit in the bathroom.
Life would be so much easier with out them. They escaped today. Ran downstairs and pissed all over the white carpet and then the younger one ran out the door.
mofo... caught his ass and beat the sense into him and threw him into the kitchen.
The older one knows better... but yea.. madness... these dogs i tell ya

^Terrible, sad, and very true.

If any of you have to give up an animal in your lives, don't ever post 'Free to a good Home' because the good home might likely be the lab.

lol, the dog headbutted the window out... sounds like a strong freaking dog!

i used to have an alaskan malamute and he was crazy powerful he would always break the lock on his run-around cage and get out and whenever we took him for a walk he would just basically pull you the whole walk.

big dogs are crazy, sometimes they can get pretty annoying too. sometimes u wish u had something to play fetch with but other times u just want a little thing thats gonna curl up on the couch with you and not reek like dog shit ... lol.... thats why i have cats now
