everytime i google something and click one of the links its always takes me to some random advertisement instead of the page i clicked on... only happens with google, what the fuck is going on and how do i fix it?

damn that was a nasty virus, i thought i had it under control, went for a smoke, i come back and my background is changed and im getting all sorts of popups and every program refuses to run, giving me an error saying its infested, and there's this "system tool" thing that i never had before is telling me to enter cc info to get full version of their anti virus program (yea right). i had to run to the library twice to get a fix and it took like 5 hours to scan it all down with various programs, finally everything is back to normal.

yea dude thats definately a virus i had that same shit back in the day.

i seriously never got all my old viruses fixed, i would get some of em off, do a system restore or 2 and it would work ok for a while again.... then be fucked up a few weeks later.

after installing windows 7 as a clean instal ive had so many less virus problems . i dont know if its cuz i started using firefox and chrome also but i think windows7 is just better with viruses.

....so yea , adaware, spybot search and destroy, hijackthis, a few free virus scans from kaspersky or somewhere and u should be at least back to working.

...or u could just try to do system restore to a point before the problem started, that usually works or at least makes it work well enough to get the virus progs up and running

I've reinstalled... it's the easiest way to go, imo.

I had that a few days ago... Seems to come form porno sites. With that said, download Malwarebytes, install it, then restart using F8 and start in safe mode. That will keep the virus from starting and freezing all your shit up. Update Malwarebytes, and then run it. This should do the trick.

well my computer's fucked now, i thought i finally got rid of the infestations, ran a windows update and then upon restarting it wouldnt boot, keeps restarting at the windows loading bar.

ended up taking it in for repairs on wednesday, and its probably gonna be there until monday. and im probably going to have to pay for new copy xp pro because my original copy was pirated and i dont have the disk for it anyway

this is fucking bullshit, i got nothing to do over the weekend now, im already halfway through the only non-educational book i have right now, and there's only so much studying i can do in a day. hopefully the library is open so i can amuse myself with yahooka and play warzone 2100 off my flashdrive.
