The greatest bubble in human history isn't Tulipmania, tho. It's Easter Island. Apparently, there was a stone head craze at some point, but the only way to move them around was by rolling them on logs. So, they kept cutting down trees to keep moving the heads. This all ended, naturally, when there were no more trees to cut down. What followed, because they had totally destroyed the ecosystem of the island, was starvation, cannibalism, and eventually the deaths of everyone on the island.

Can you imagine what must have been going through the mind of the a-hole who cut down the last tree?
