i was reading about that too. also i noticed that literally dozens of property developers who had big projects in dubai have since commited suicide. the one guy donald or something an irish developer who i saw on a bbc doc about the world islands a few years ago was the guy who bought the ireland island in the world for like 30 million dollars. he killed himself. pretty shitty.

I'm surprised to hear that. I didn't expect this to happen until global sea levels began to significantly rise--another 25 or fifty years at least. I remember watching this with my son on NatGeo and saying as much.

Without reading the article, I bet it was due to good ole' fashioned erosion due to the high maintainance sea walls.
