How do we solve our energy problems? solar roads!
imagine, every road in america, think about how much room they take up and how much greenspace has been covered over with asphalt.
now imagine Snow-melting road technology in the works | The Car Tech blog - CNET Reviews a road that acts as a solar panel- it could produce energy to melt snow that built up on the road- reducing snow removal budgets, it could produce power to power the nearby streetlights and stoplights.... even potentially the homes on the street. and it has just the same if not better traction and performance from a normal road....but for the 99% of the day when cars arent on it, it would be one big solar panel...stretching across the country. this would be such a better way to spend our money than on high speed rail lines. imagine solar panel roads powering chevy volts... we wouldnt even need to import oil anymore if we implemented this... and its already possible (if expensive) today
