Prison or Jail

Which is worse? I was always under the impression that prison was much worse, but I was talking to a couple old timers today (one who just got outta a twenty year stint in prison, one who just got outta three years in county), and they were saying country jail is much worse, like constantly being the the hole.

Anyone here with experience care to shed some light on the matter?

never been to either but the old timers are right, county is a shithole compared to the pen.

probably depends on how well connected you are/how good you can fight/how much you like getting fucked in the ass

chances of getting raped in prison are greatly reduced because they actually try to separate the sexual offenders from the rest of GP, so the dudes who have been there long enough to gain enough clout to do some rapin are usually already isolated.

if they keep the old timers away from the fresh meat there will be a break in the rapings because I would assume that most of the new guys aren't the ones doing the raping.

in county you're in the same cell block and day room as everyone and anyone else. mother rapers, father stabbers, father rapers (props for anyone who gets the reference)

this is all just my assessment at least

Prison is full of men who accomplished something, jail is full of useless pieces of shit never done nothing but annoy the fuck out of the world and then come back out and do it again.

the jail in my county is pretty laxed we get tv good & rec when its nice, good food about the best jail (been a trustie their so i iknow) to be in around prison is ok didnt do much time their but did a lil family has done some an they say if ur hooked up or can roll then u get a ways in their now if ur a chomo then u get rly far its pretty fucked up if u ask me.................. ..

based on time...prison stints are usually longer, that requires a different social structure....not so much the eat or be eaten philosophy of county jails

prison is where the more professional crooks end up, and are therefore generally better educated.

in either situation "general population" is where you'll get your fill of crazies.

in either situation , telling them you're suicidal will keep you in isolation and away from the "pack" until you get a feel for the place.

in prison there are better programs available for rehabilitation.

Obviously i don't wanna end up in either, but its been my experience that cops rarely give you a choice in legal matters

The guy who did 3 in county was saying they kept him pumped full of a TON of seroquel constantly, and that he was either pretty sedated or downright unconscious almost the whole time...i guess that wouldn't be TOO bad a way to do it.
