But there's no money in busting criminals.
Son just got a ticket from the local police for running a stop sign on his bicycle on a quiet, traffic free side street.
Meanwhile, the two vacant houses across the alley were vandalized, transients broke in and ripped all the copper out of the walls to recycle it. Four of my neighbors cars and mine were broken into in the last month, the corner store gets beer ran all the time and not ONE of the officers on our police force even lives in this god damned city. I'd like to be rich and not have to worry about 'petty taxes' from the local PD, I refuse to be a low life scum bag piece of shit living off the hard work of others so I am working class and have to pay for it all. Kill the poor, eat the rich, I'd love to start a revolution but I have to be at work tomorrow... /frustrated rant.

I remember when I learned to love cops and authority. We had just moved into our subdivision which, unfortunately, had a local police chief living in it. One day we were playing hackysack in the street and I saw his wife drive past us in her van. I waved hello and she gave me a weird stare. Half hour later a cop shows up and gives us all tickets for playing hackysack in the street. Turns out the guys wife told his guys that I ran into the middle of the road taunting her or something.

Here if you show up with more than a few feet of copper wire for recycling you have to wait four days to get your check from the salvage yard. It's an awesome system. Crackhead steals copper from vacant building and takes it to the salvage yard, salvage yard contacts local PD and tells them when crackhead will be back to collect his ill gotten goodies, PD gets some free police work done and salvage yard gets to keep the copper minus a few inches kept as 'evidence'. It's a win/win situation, unless of course you're the crook or the lawful owner of the property stolen, then you're just fucked.
It's almost as sweet as having a tow contract with the local law enforcements 'vehicular funds generation' division.

I got a ticket on my bike when I was a kid, maybe 19. I was always afraid of cops, but at that moment, I had to really try to not laugh at him. It was only $20 at the time, so no real big deal (probably ten times that now), but still, don't they have anything better to do?
I know about that copper thing, too. I had to replace a spa heater that got looted of copper. Fuck home ownership. ![]() The Rev |

that would be bad ass to be a cop and roll around in a car all day giving tickets to people who deserve them. like people who don't use their blinker.
but it would suck cause then you'd be around all the shitty cops that do nothing. |
