I'd love to see what happened if he really DID manage to shut down the Fed.

In spite of his penchant for slaughtering Indians, I've always had a warm spot in my heart for Andrew Jackson because he was the only president in history to take on and shut down the central bank (The Second Bank of the United States). You can't really give a shit about the people, IMO, unless you are against the central bank.

He's a Republican, yes, but he's and anti-establishment Republican, and that's what they hate about him. He forces the others to consider that what they support might be really bad, just by his existence, and by the forcefulness of his arguments.

i was shocked when during the last primaries my mainstream vaguely conservative no rock the boat mother mentioned over dinner "have you heard about this ron paul guy, he seems to really know what he's talking about and they're not really giving him a fair voice..."

i was fucking stunned. this guy might be able to appeal to the masses if he can get just a smidgen of good media coverage.
