its funny when i answered this question i was studying for a humor test...specifically a couple questions about not getting jokes right away...and i still missed it.

i feel reeeeaaall dumb.

Two strangers are sitting next to each other on a plane: a man and a woman.
The captain comes over the louspeaker and says. "Folks, it is with great regret i inform you that the plane is out of fuel and is about to crash. Survival is unlikely and i'd afvise getting your affairs in order"
the woman turns to the man, rips her shirt off, and says, "make me feel like a woman again before we die!"
the man looks at her, rips his shirt off, and says, "iron this!"

....alot of people don't get my often passive-agressive humor...speaking in fragments, and really poor grammer of mine doesn't help.

I used to read and write alot, mostly poetry.
If that helps.
most poetry like good comedy has a rythm...in order to get the punch line you often have to over look the obvious, and go with the flow of it.

for example the joke above could be improved by adding "here, iron this".
The reader doesn't give a second thought about "what's she going to iron", but directs the ironing directly back to the shirt.

that and the fact that it's sexist and a bit dated (does anyone still iron cloths ?)

..and obviously , from this extended reply, a joke can be overthought.

I only iron stuff that is prone to wrinkling, like a dress shirt I haven't worn for a while for an interview or something. I really should iron a few pair of jeans tho.

i just wear wrinkly dress shirts. normally its a tie dye, a zig zag shirt, a white tee...i like to keep the expectations low

and roach, the joke i didnt get was spanky's painfully obvious op. but thanks for the comic input. i'm actually in a class right now where our end of semester final is giving a 5 minute standup routine at a local bar. i just wrote a bit the other night, not too shabby i think, but i wont post it on a public forum (anti-plagiarism search engines and whatnot)
