Paranoia strikes deep...

I was just sitting in my recliner, when I started to feel really ill, so I pick up the phone, and called 911. So they send two paramedics over, they check my vitals, notice my Medic Alert bracelet tattoo, AND THEN, my "Fuck the Police" tattoo... and they have a chuckle over it.

It must have been in my head though, because my vitals were perfect.

But shit happens...

Two cops showed up at my door a few miutes later, to check that I wasn't committing suicide. Really??? Do they honestly think that if I was going to kill myself I'd call 911 to tell them? Fucking laughable, man...

Besides, I was already clinically dead for 9 minutes.

Been there. Done that.

What really pisses me off is the fact that it was RIGHT after the paramedics left that the police showed up... I'd have thought that the police, paramedics and the 911 dispatcher would, ya know, communicate with one another. Guess not.

Yeah, "there's our tax money at work", while you used resources that should have been utilized elsewhere. Way to go!

What do you mean by 'ill'? Do you have a history of a medical condition?

Yeah, I was struck by a car while riding my bike in 1991, because of which I have massive brain damage. I've LOST my short term memory, and I'm prone to seizures. When I'm seizing, I'll go unconscious for a while... when I come to, I can't talk, or move the left side of my body. I never know how long they'll last.

It's why I started taking pot in the first place

The paramedics and police who were dispatched, don't work for free.

I seizure. I thought I may have been having a seizure then, I had justifiable grounds to call 911, so I did... Enough said...

Well, I spent years in the hospital; for one. Due to... BRAIN INJURY!!!! It affected my short-term memory. NOT my long-term memory...

I'll be damned...

They were looking out for you. That's their job. I have no beef with you calling 911, because you thought you were having a medical emergency. That's what it's for. But to complain after that they responded "too much"...well, I just don't get that.

I know about when things start to go wrong and I'm sorry things got that bad for you.

Thanks... and it's not that I'm complaining about 911 responding "too much", it's just that I don't consider the police to be really useful when one is having a medical emergency...

What're they gonna do?!? Arrest it???

You might be surprised. They're trained to do more than arrest. Chances are wires got crossed. It happens.

I get that not every cop is an asshole, I realise that some really do mean well and are just doing their job. but I always thought that the main purpose of law enforcement was FOR ALL COPS to "protect and to serve". Not to treat the general public as terrorist suspects waiting to be harassed, arrested, and sometimes even murdered for little to no reason at all, except for their own personal biased self-justification. But sadly enough, They are actually the minority because nowadays, most young urban cops fresh out the academy don't possess an ounce of respect for tax paying, law abiding citizens.
