There is no doubt the music was part of that at first.

I am not sure this is how the Dad feels or if he'd even would want this music behind this video and I don't know if either of these men in the video are even Christian.

For someone there is a linkage. The video maker, I'd assume?

Maybe THEY are the Christian, and they "know their Redeemer lives" because of this video?

In my Eyes, whether the words about Jesus are factual or not, the thing I think is true about them is that this man-character-myth is willing to give and sacrifice for others to the utmost. The purpose of Jesus doing so? Another personal matter that I'll let lay.

But I'm just saying whoever made this video may see this as some sort of answer or solidification of their Faith, hence the choice in tune.

I can't say 'It wasn't a strong choice of music'.... but I just wanted to take a pass at breaking it down.

On the other hand, about the action itself.

The Willingness the Dad had isn't owned by A religion, it's a Perennial Truth. So where ever this Dad got his strength or idea to do this I think it's pretty incredible.

And Dad wasn't just jogging, that's the understatement of the year Terry

He's doing major endurance events.
That's no small thing even w/out pushing the chair.

The Son in the chair seems completely fine with being there, doing the events, thrilled even, I'd say.

What did the Son get out of it?

He's done more endurance events that I have and probably most people here.

I biked, walked and ran beside my Wife while she ran a marathon for the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society a few years ago, and I gotta say, just being there for me felt like an accomplishment. Spending hours on end with some one as they go through the ups and down of the event, coupled with, in this case, WHY she was doing it, isn't easy either.

Often people do these events FOR people or causes, and maybe this is one of those cases?
Maybe the Dad feels partially responsible for the physical state his son is in?

Like I said, I don't believe, from watching, that the Son had an even close to bad time, and it looks like he made for one hell of an encouraging partner at that.
And I have a hard time think his Dad did this from a bad place either.

So in a whacky turn of events, I decided to google and do some reading, here is an article I hope will shed some light on the Racing of the Dad and Son

Maryland chiropractor Larry Herman says he hopes many experience that same exhilarating feeling April 30 at the Frederick (Md.) Marathon, where relay teams of four to 10 individuals are volunteering to push more than a dozen people in wheelchairs for the 26.2 miles.

"When I met Rick and Dick Hoyt, it was like meeting one of your heroes," says Herman, who attended Monday's race to cheer the family.

Bobbye Beall was skeptical when Herman suggested her 28-year-old son, Lucas, who has severe retardation, cerebral palsy and is blind, participate.

"I kept wondering what this is for, what cause is this going to," Beall says. Then she remembered the days when the family lived on a farm, where Lucas loved rides on the swing and tractor or being pulled in a wagon by his brother. She remembered how his face lit up with excitement. She understood.

"The only cause is to give wheelchair-bound people the joy of feeling the wind in your face," says Beall, who will push her son for part of the race. "The more I think about it, the more excited I am."

But try as I might, that MUSIC is one strong drink to swallow and to know why it's part of this montage.
