Its a govt back ground check that the possible buyer (me) must pass. In Indiiana my marijuana charge may or may not keep me from passing it. I'll find out sometime this weak. Spanky what did u hear? I haven't heard anything about it yet but I've been watchin Sports Center most of my morning.

i failed a govmnt background check for a rifle a while back, either from my pot charge or because i opted not to put down my ssn, possibly being confused for someone else.

decided not to go this route, but remember gun shows/private sales dont require a background check, just the reasonable assumption that the person is not a felon or drug user.

I could go on forever about gun laws. But really, everyone should have a gun. We dont need to get rid of guns, we need to get rid of the crazies. Think about back in the wild west, when everyone was packing. Some crazy dude with two .44's runs into a bar and EVERYONE just needs to pull a gun out on him.

While there are still always accidents, there is something to be said in an idealistic sense for the statement above. Getting rid of the guns are just band aids, over the wound that make us want to hurt each other in the first place. It doesn't cure the root problem.

There are steps along the way. This isn't going to be solved one way or another over night.
