Why do some people not give a tip?

I work as a pizza delivery person and there are certain houses that stiff by way of leaving [me] with less than a dollar, and and some that are always a stiff. In fact there is on house in particular who orders almost every day now for like teh last week or so and they never tip. Do people think anyone would work for minimum wage putting miles and wear on your own car, deal with crazy drivers, the elements, ice walkways, retards and drunks and not expect a tip? FUCK

Even with gas prices, no change has been seen.

Because I'm a broke ass college student. If I can afford pizza, I have enough to tip, so I tip.

That's lame Rubi.....

Deliver one to my house and I'll hook you up.
I used to deliver for a short time and I always tip the driver.

I think there are a couple of jobs that people ought to have in life to help breed compassion.

Serving food
Cleaning public space

Hope they give you a HUGE one some day Rubi.

When there is shitty service. I feel that tipping ("To insure prompt service") as by it's real meaning is an incentive for waiters to provide good service. If I get the service I expect from the server/delivery person, then I'll give them somewhere around 20%. If I dislike their service, it's a 10%.

And if they piss me off or provide service that makes my dining experience unpleasant then fuck them. I think it's a pretty straight forward thing. If you don't tip in general you're an asshole. I don't care if you don't have money. If you can afford to go out, you're generally doing better than your waiter. So tip the mother fucker. It's taxes.

That doesn't mean the server has to wait for it. I thought being a shitty tipper is some hood shit.

some people try to write it off as if "their employer should be the one who is paying them" when in reality you know that every person you deliver to is your boss. I find it's more forgivable in minority communities and that's plenty acceptable to me. When rich white people tip me poorly tho it makes me feel like showing up to their address with a gas can and a lighter. It's like fuck you. You know you have the loot to pay the people who serve you but you choose to be an asshole anyway.

Two bucks, it's part of the cost of having a pizza delivered, if you don't have two bucks you should at the very least offer up a bong toke.

If you don't have a bong toke, you need to walk your lazy ass down to Little Sleazers and get your own fuckin' pie.

Guy gets paid per delivery and also by the hour so he's only gettin' the two bucks, he didn't have to jump any canyons or slay any dragons to get here, but even if he's a shit head he'll get the two bucks.

I mean unless he's a total fuckwad, then he may get my boot but you gotta be a serious schwantz to fuck up slingin' pizza.

Got no problem calling back the store and bitching though, whatever happens over there isn't my problem and he got his tip so if the rest of his night is shitty that's his gig.

Duuuuuuuude!! That's shady as crap! I always hook the pizza guy or any delivery up bc of the wear and tear. Brotha I so feel ya on this.. I once worked for "pepsi" and had to drive grocery store to grocery store in Indianapolis (colts suck) stocking pop/soda shelves for $9.75/hr. No mileage compensation or maintenece help. Not really much you can do in your scenario except keep fill out apps and submitting resumes til your outta that job.. Give the people an extremely FAKE thanks or a "your a d!ck" grin just to help release some frustration. I wish you the gift of a huge random tip one very soon day.. Peace

I'm gotta add that I do a little maintenance work on the side for pizza huts in my area and the mngr and I play paintball together and blaze. So he sends the kewl delivery guys bc he knows I blaze.. He even delivers himself to stop buy and bullshit wit me.. I forgot why that was relevant.. Oh yeah I hook them up @ least $5 but wit gas it'll need adjusted.. Take care of who helps feed you.. They will remember it.. Like Rubix proves

I think that it is bad when people don't tip! I work in a restaurant and people who don't tip are assholes. It makes me mad when the service is good and they tip nothing or a dollar!

despite the fact that my house is on one of the biggest roads in town and clearly labeled the first two orders here took 60 minutes +
they said they couldnt find it
i was so angry i decided i wasn't gonna tip, fuck those slow motherfuckers.

but then i tipped anyway, figured they could use it. and you know what? the next time i ordered.... IT WAS FREAKY FUCKING FAST. karma bitch!

I always leave a two dollar tip... that is... whenever I'm not actually picking the pizza(s) & wings; which is hardly ever...

eh they were new and seemed like kis who had never had a different job before..everyone can use a second chance and i guess they seemed sorry enough.

around here theres a lot of people who will actually ask for change back cuz they wont even tip change. thats not to mention that a lot of the restaurants are paying sub minimum wage under the counter.

Are you saying I'm an asshole when I don't tip shitty servers? I said in my post I tip well above "average" when I receive service that's par with what I expect. I'm not asking for a fucking back massage. But if a pizza guy walks to my door in a reasonable time, knocks and says something marginally nice, or better yet just doesn't kick me in the nuts, they'll get a tip.

Waiters on the other hand, Work for your money. A tip is just what it is. A tip for good service. Don't want a shitty job based on tips, then go work at a grocery store. Just as easy of a job and not based on tips. You're income fluctuates with how well of a job you do. It's not dick.

Ive definitely had entitled servers who perform way poorly and arent gettin hooked up.

Some people lack the understanding of why they are supposed to tip, and they aren't willing to hear any reasons that they should. "No one tips me when I fix their refrigerator or cash out their groceries" or whatever... Is the most common excuse of all time, and it is inherently lame. I think our parallax subscribes to this theory.

I think the whole idea of people having to work for tips is pretty fucked up in the first place. A tip should be for service over and beyond, not a part of their minimum wage.

People have already decided that they will not tip long before the pizza goes to you for a delivery.

You must learn the art of manipulation, but don't abuse it.

When I was a pizza jockey and the weather was warm/hot, I always carried a spray bottle full of water and just before I got to the house, I sprayed my face up to make it look like I was really hot. To really sell that, roll your windows down and make a joke about being certain their pizza is hot because your AC is busted (even if it's not).

In the Winter, grab a handful of snow, and rub it on your nose or cheeks right before you get to the door. Makes them nice and red. If there is no snow, keep a small cooler in your car with a ziplock bag of ice, and use that.

Laugh at me, but I got paid.

TBF, one time I went back and JB Welded a Mailbox closed one night because the guy was a total asshole. The pizza was late, they wanted it free, the discount was $3.00. The daughter pays me, I give the three bucks back, she tips me. On my way.

Nope. The Dad opens the door, and takes the tip out of my hand slams the door in my face.

I wouldn't recommend tampering with a mailbox though. If you get caught, it's serious business.

I went to a restaurant a few years back...my mom and i went for lunch. it was empty..the food is good we've been before...so we get there sit down and wait..the place is empty..we get our menues..we wait..by the time the server comes to take our order it had been like 40 minutes...she was cute and blonde and had braids in her hair..she had been chatting with the bartender....we ordered our drinks after 20 minutes of waiting..and our food 20 minutes later, we waited because it was a nice day and we were chit chatting..then we waited even longer and I ended up getting a parking ticket because the metre ran out.

we tipped but it was small and insulting.
