4.3? That's it? Someone farts in L.A. and we get better than 4.3.

(of course, we do have alot of mexican food being eaten in SoCal, so that might be part of it.)

Don't you mean left? The Pacific coast is right, meaning she would be running toward The Ring of Fire.

(BTW, up until recently, I thought Ring of Fire was what happened when you reached for the lube but accidentally grabbed the Ben Gay)

I was wondering what that was yesterday, house was rumbling for a minute or two. I'm in Ottawa. And I agree with Pharm Girl, two separate earthquakes on different faults in a week, can't be good. Maybe these are warnings of whats to come in 2012 lols

If the next to worst happens they are saying the prairie provinces are the place to be. Only place in Canada that won't be under water.

Yeah, I'm with you on the ring of fire thing, sounds like it should originate in someones ass

way to go Stulic,

alot of folks don't associate a quake in asia to quakes on the east coast of America.

however it happens regularly.

fyi....

the 6 reactors in Japan that are melting down...have approx. 560 tons of fuel in them combined.
They also have combined "spent" fuel pools of 680 tons.
That's 1240 tons of radioavtive materials.

Chernobyl had 180 tons.

Yeah I don't know what's that got to do with anything, I just wanted to point out that it wasn't ONLY 2 consecutive earthquakes on two different fault lines, but hundreds scattered all over the world.
To be fair, this is not unusual either.

A much better list overview from the USGS:

Latest Earthquakes in the World - Past 7 days

Yea , I follow USC&GS for quakes. (used to do civil drafting/surveying).

changes that might effect the Yellowstone Caldera is 1 place I always check out.

South American activity often goes right up the chain to Alaska
