ive never missed an exam before, but i used the dieing grandfather excuse once. Cant remember for what, but for missing something class related.

I get where you are coming from, but sometimes classes have to be skipped. Just because it's costing me money doesn't make the time spent less enjoyable.

Besides student loans have wicked interest rates, doesn't matter if it takes me 20 years to pay it off.

it definitely depends on the class and how much of an expert you are on the subject matter. degree requirements, as opposed to classes i took because i enjoy the subject matter, are not nearly as important, especially if they are a much lower level than my understanding.

for example, i am majoring in math and chemistry. in my last semester (right now !!!) i am taking a 2nd year math class, because i already finished everything else my math major needs. its insanely easy, and was designed for students who have only 1 previous introduction level math course. it also happens to be at 9am, on a days where i don't have any other classes. i usually go on mondays and fridays because i have to hand in stuff for my other classes and must go to uni anyway, but i have skipped about 40% of the total lectures. it doesn't disadvantage me or cheat me out of money, because i pretty much learned all the stuff before anyway.

also i am paying for my education myself.

i didn't want to say anything....mine was actually dead though.
