Snowmayne you are mixing reality with delusional fantasys of war for oil now. Of course Libya has resources or something valuable to the United States. Even the President himself said we have to balance our desire to spread democracy with the needs of our nation.

You're living in a dream world if you think that doesn't play a part in our decision making. Of course it does, and what's wrong with that? I highly doubt oil is the main reason of our involvement, and I can almost guarantee that we won't see better oil prices because of our actions. But a dictator will be out of power, and Libya's resources will be safe.

What is wrong with what is happening again? You're making a bunch of speculations, and I'm really surprised anyone actually listens to what you say. Because honestly you sound like you don't really know shit.

Its like saving your neighbors burning house when you know there's some really awesomely rare vinyl records in it. Sure, you have an extra impetus, but its not the motivation as much as a bonus.

Which one is it? Am i delusional for seeing France has a large interest in Libya because of oil, or is it ok that they have something valuable to us as you say, contradicting yourself in your second statement?

So because someone tells us something we should listen without questioning it? Yea no thanks. I'll draw my own conclusions by looking at whats happened in the past. We've had the President, Government, and the media knowingly lie to us many times in the past.

Again, I read this as you contradicting yourself. One part saying im nuts again for thinking its something other than humanitarian reasons, the second saying its ok if theres something else, because its bettering the Western world somehow, all the while spending 100s of millions of dollars we don't have, possibly helping other evils, and helping to further destabilize yet another region.

There is no insurance in this. Ghadaffi could very well stay in power, our mission isn't even to take him out of power. How am I the uninformed one again?

Speculations, where? I've stated the media has shown us no proof of Ghadaffi using his air power on unarmed civilians, don't bother looking to prove me wrong its not there. I've stated we are most likely helping the rebels when they have AQ and other people who have fought us other wars among them. Google it. Theres several reports of us being worried about this in the weeks coming up to the NFZ. NATO commander saying there are at least small pockets of it. A fighter interviewed saying there are many of them among the rebels, and they are happy to have them there. Tell me, what happens if we decide to arm these guys? Strong possibility these weapons end up in the very hands of the people you once fought....

US orchestrates regime change in Libya, using social media (video) | Media Critiques |Axisoflogic.com

This may be to much for you, but sadly this is reality. This isn't being used to make the uprisings happen, but to sway our public opinion about them, discredit Ghadaffi and make people like you, ok with us doing everything we are doing.

Heres another great article

The World Cheers as the CIA Plunges Libya Into Chaos

some parts from it

Quote:
How was Libya doing under the rule of Gadaffi? How bad did the people have it? Were they oppressed as we now commonly accept as fact? Let us look at the facts for a moment.

Before the chaos erupted, Libya had a lower incarceration rate than the Czech republic. It ranked 61st. Libya had the lowest infant mortality rate of all of Africa. Libya had the highest life expectancy of all of Africa. Less than 5% of the population was undernourished. In response to the rising food prices around the world, the government of Libya abolished ALL taxes on food.

People in Libya were rich. Libya had the highest gross domestic product (GDP) at purchasing power parity (PPP) per capita of all of Africa. The government took care to ensure that everyone in the country shared in the wealth. Libya had the highest Human Development Index of any country on the continent. The wealth was distributed equally. In Libya, a lower percentage of people lived below the poverty line than in the Netherlands.
The data is pretty uncontroversial in terms of its sources. And the article conveniently links in the text to the source data.

Quote:
The true leader of Libya is an indirectly elected prime-minister. The current prime-minister is Baghdadi Mahmudi. Calling Khadaffi the leader of Libya is comparable to calling Akihito the leader of Japan. Contrary to what your media is sketching, opinions in Libya vary. Some people support Gadaffi but want Mahmudi out. Others want both out. Many just want to live their life in peace. However, effort is taken to sketch the appearance of a popular revolt against the supposed leader of Libya, Gadaffi, when in fact he is just the architect of Libya's current political system, a mixture of pan-Arabism, socialism, and Islamic government.
Quote:
Why is the United States so opposed to Gadaffi? He is the main threat to US hegemony in Africa, because he attempts to unite the continent against the United States. This concept is called the United States of Africa. In fact, Gadaffi holds all sorts of ideas that are contrary to US interests. The man blames the United States government for the creation of HIV. He claims that Israel is behind the assasination of Martin Luther King and president John. F. Kennedy. He says that the 9/11 hijackers were trained in the US. He also urged Libyans to donate blood to Americans after 9/11. Khadaffi is also the last of a generation of moderate socialist pan-Arab revolutionaries that is still in power, after Nasser and Hussein have been eliminated, and Syria has aligned itself with Iran.

Libya protesters set fire to government buildings in Tripoli | World news | guardian.co.uk

Libya: "Islamic Emirate of Barqa" seizes arms, takes hostages - Jihad Watch

These are the protesters in Libya. Much different than those in Egypt and Tunisia.

So before you all get upset about military opening fire on people like this, try it in your own country, see what happens when you storm military bases and set the Capitol building on fire.

Anti-American Extremists Among Libyan Rebels U.S. Has Vowed To Protect

Quote:
According to a cache of al Qaeda documents captured in 2007 by U.S. special operations commandos in Sinjar, Iraq, hundreds of foreign fighters, many of them untrained young Islamic volunteers, poured into Iraq in 2006 and 2007. The documents, called the Sinjar documents, were collected, translated and analyzed at the West Point Counter Terrorism Center. Almost one in five foreign fighters arriving in Iraq came from eastern Libya, many from the city of Darnah. Others came from Surt and Misurata to the west.

On a per capita basis, that’s more than twice as many than came from any other Arabic-speaking country, amounting to what the counter terrorism center called a Libyan “surge" of young men eager to kill Americans.

During 2006 and 2007, a total of 1,468 Americans were killed in combat and 12,524 were badly wounded, according to Pentagon records.
So Libya has this many people willing to fight wars, how many of those people rose up again to join a fight?
