First serious job lead in forever
I got an email from a friend's father about a 6 week salvage job in the city, with the possibility of going to full time if they like my work.
I emailed the guy last night, hopefully I hear something. Construction/demo is one of the few fields I have actual experience in so hopefully I get it.

Good to hear man. I've always enjoyed demo. I've found the most efficient approach is that it's about tearing shit apart as much as it's about cleaning up and doing it in stages.
If all else fails:

Yeah for real I'm gonna take this so seriously.
Mainly for myself, but also because Bruce is a great dude, and I wouldn't want to make him look like a fool for suggesting me, you know?

my best advice on demo: before you start punching holes in drywall with your fists, make sure there's no brick behind it.

Hahaha good call. It's actually a "green" salvage company called Buffalo ReUse, meaning they'll be tearing down bit by bit to save as much of the materials they can for resell and reuse.
So unfortunately I don't think there will be much mindless destruction, which would have been nice.

Well plotted destruction would be pretty fun as well I would imagine.

This is the email I sent... does it sound ok? I'm kind of stressing out over the wording and everything. I know I overthink things, but I'm positive that I made this sound too informal. I don't know.
Mr. asdasdaqfq; My name is Darien kjasnkasbjdaksd I am a friend of Bruce askjbaks's daughter Liz, and they suggested that I send you an email regarding a temporary employment position working on a salvage job in the city. I am 21 years old, a graduate of asbakjfabf HS, where I majored in Architectural Engineering. I have never worked demo before, however I have worked on a few construction jobs, including rehabbing my parent's house and building/wiring the basement of a Dojo in Kenmore. I've done tile, drywall, and framing, as well as cosmetic portions of the job such as carpeting, painting and varnishing floors. I know how to handle most power tools including circular, band and jig saws. I would very much appreciate an opportunity to interview to work for you. If you need any references or other personal information please don't hesitate to ask. My phone number is 1234567890 and my email address is akjsbdakjbd@asjdaksj .com Thank you for your time and I appreciate your consideration for this job. -D. asjdaksa April 3, 2011

Sounds good, I think, better than anything I've ever sent in an e-mailed job application.
