Fuckin Work

Damn where to start when venting out about work, I'm leaving end of May I guess is a good place to start.

It's one of those things where once you hit the wall and become totally burnt out there's just really no going back and no being fake about it anymore.

I realized this back in March and informed my boss that I would be leaving after his return from a long planned vacation out of the country. Unfortunately I still have 5 weeks left of this and while I need the last paychecks badly, I find myself resenting that I have to keep doing this.

I know I have a shit attitude about this but I cant seem to help it, they've already replaced me with some dude 15 years older than me and seemingly more experienced. We are short handed right now anyway and the boss is gone, and I promised I'd stick around.

So I just feel like I'm doing monkey work and overall not respected for what I do, and I just want something better. The funny thing is I'm destined to go downhill in income and success for the foreseeable future as I'm going to try and do my own thing and make a living at it.

I realize this is not a well formed post but I'm at lunch and in a hurry. This is all venting but I don't know id this belongs in G&S because it's so unimportant really.

Fuck work right?

I dunno man. The choice is ultimately yours. And any consequences you may suffer from just blowin' off these last 5 weeks after giving your word about staying, should be taken well into consideration before acting.

I can't tell you which would be the best choice. Keeping your word and staying, or just sayin' fuck it right now and going. But you gotta weigh the fact that the choice you make now may really come back to bite you in the ass hard, later. Which may be ok with you. I walked out of a high paying job that I had for years one day. I said fuck it, i don't need this shit anymore, and left. Didn't even clean out my locker, i didn't need or want any of the shit in there anyway. Didn't clock out. Just said, i'm DONE with this, see ya! One of the best decisions I ever made. At the time, did I know it may bite me in the ass later? Yes, absolutely. But I chose to do so anyway and fuckin' A if at least once a week I still think about how great it was to just fucking go and that I'm not there anymore...and this was 7+ years ago.

Good luck with whatever your choice is, man.

Show up drunk for the next three days, get fired, collect unemployment til you start the new job.

I totally know what you're talking about. When I left my job, I felt the exact same way. I felt bad because my attitude was shit, but I was so burnt on the bullshit that I couldn't even fake it anymore. It's hard working for a company that's run like shit, and no one wants to do anything about it.

Good luck on the next step, man.

I started working at a job getting paid too much, at the time. I was making way more then all of my friends. Now I am still there making OK dough, but all of my friends have masters or Drs. I would have my masters if I was working in a super market while going through school.
So go through school, or work at a shitty job and love your life after 5pm

I honestly work for maybe 7 hours out of a 40 hour work week! That is when I am busy!

if you hate your job, quit. fuck it. do what you want. i guess the trade off is pay. but at least for me , i dont mind low pay as long as i dont hate my job. i spent half my day playing with my coworkers puppy that they brought in to work today, was a good day.
