Just started watching this show after hearing how its the best thing ever too many times. So I gave in. Holy fuck. Fuck lost, this is ridiculous. How the fuck did this show ever exist? Does it get better/worse as the show goes on? whats ur favorite season? favorite character? favorite thing? cool comment? NO SPOILERS PLZ (u can hint at stuff but dont tell me how someone dies or anything like that u know)

The first series is the best but all of them are pretty good.
McNultie's drink driving exploits are funny.

too many favourite characters to choose from!
Daniels, Bunk, McNulty, Omar, Bodie, Carver, Freamon, Bill Rawls, theyre all awesome! My favourite season has to be 2, or 4. 5th season suffered a bit coz of the writers strike its all great though.One of my favourite scenes has to be in the 1st season where Bunk and Mcnulty are checkin out a murder scene, and they both say nothing but "hmmm" and Fuck" for about two minites.

I've seen like half an episode before...
I guess I'm gonna follow Waves on this one, been needing good shit to watch anyhow. my buddies all swear by it (the wire)

Yeah, I actually just started my fifth go around through the series. On season 3 now at the moment. I really loved all the seasons but I feel season five turned some people off because it kind of left the realism of the show a bit. Season two also felt a bit disconnected from the other seasons but I enjoyed them all. My favourite characters were Bubbles, Omar, McNulty, Bunk, Avon, Colvin, Wee-bey, Carver, Cutty, Bodie. I hated Stringer and Marlo.

I got my dad into watching whole TV shows, he's never been one for more TV than Fox News, and he can't stop raving about The Wire.
I need to find some time to check it out. I started the first season with him, but we got into a fight and I left the house for a few days. By the time I went back home he was already in the third season.

be prepared to be mindfuckd @ season 2, how they managed to go that direction through an entire season is beyond me. While its good, its not what makes The Wire, well, The Wire. Favorite characters are Omar and Bodie, on and the black chick lesbian cop, was crushin on her hard back in the day. Quite a few more but its been a minute since I last revisited the show, and the names slip me.

It's one of the better series for sure.
Avon barksdale's story is really interresting. bodie's is kinda sad. Bubbles ftw.

best show ever done imo
the only others that come close are The Trailer Park Boys and Breaking Bad.

I'll just mention Tudors, and Rome. Epic series both of them. The Borgias is very promising so far. The Wire is really good, but it gets amazing after you finish it.

no need to turn this into a dick-sizing competition there have been many amazing shows throughout television history
almost finished up first season last night, watched episodes 4-9 throughout the night Wallace is probably my favorite character right now, but hes probably going to get capped pretty soon. d'angelo is my second favorite. mcnultie just seems like the standard like everyone would love him. same with bubbles, hes like a character written specifically to be loved by the audience.
