I've been learning to play chess, and hanging at chess.com. They have a number of options for online chess, and some good resources. There are also quite a few high ranking players and masters there you can hit up for info, so it's a great site.

If anyone wants to join me for a game (they have turn-based chess that you can play if you can't join at the same time for a live game) my screen name over there is "gizmodeus" (I wanted Rev, or The_Rev, but because it's such a huge site compared to YaHooka, those names were taken ages ago.)

My father taught me when I was six. My son learned from me a bit earlier than that.

I play chess most days during my lunch--real chess with physical pieces against a person I can talk to.

I play well enough to beat the average 12 year old most of the time, but I am no stranger to humiliation. But that's okay, it's the game and the company I love, not the victory.

Look me up. There's a chat feature, so you can "talk" during the game. And I'm not exactly Garry Kasparov, so no worries.
